Chapter 104

Mike left 'D Maggie' back to the hotel, but before he left, there was this scene that played out, although he assumed it to be an emotional blackmail. He had wok up that morning very early and went into the bathroom for a quick bath. Margaret had wanted another round of sex with him, but she didn't know how to ask him to avoid being perceived as being cheap or fallen for him. She wished he could somehow feel aroused again, as she removed the blanket covering her. She left the bed and sat on the chair facing him, with her legs well exposed. Mike saw this, but his mind was already made up to leave for his hotel. Their earlier discussion on when he would do the final inspection did not go well with him. He suspected she intentionally postponed the date, for her selfish benefit. Being that there wasn't anything he could or would do about it, he had to accept his fate. This was one of the reason why he decided to leave that early so as to have a quiet time to himself. When it seemed her effort to make him stay wasn't working, and the sex trap failed also, she resorted to being moody and began to give Mike attitude. Mike tried to understand why she would behave in such a manner, he asked her what was wrong with her, but she wouldn't talk. All efforts to hear from her proved abortive.

Mike came out of the bathroom with his towel round his waist, Margaret had thought about her feeling for him, she knew she had started loving him. The way she looked and admired every thing about him. She had to brave up and walk up to him. Standing before Mike, she held her hands round his neck, pulled his head a little down towards herself and kissed him on his lips. Mike responded but surprised at why she would do so.

I will miss you Mike, she said

Mike didn't want to make her feel bad, he knew he wasn't going to miss her, his mind was still stuck with Olivia. He would only change his mind when he had heard from her that she wasn't interested anymore.

I will miss you too. He responded casually.

Why don't you move over to this place for the remaining few days? She asked

She felt it was worth it, after all his business was in her office, so both of them would leave house together. Mike thought about it a little, though it made sense to him, it would even reduce cost since he wouldn't be paying for his accommodation and transport, but he knew the offer wasn't devoid of her selfish goal too. He told her he would think about it. After what seemed like persuasion, she finally let him go. She had already made her plan B, it was either she got what she wanted or she would delay his inspection as long as she would, making sure he changed his mind. After all, she wasn't asking him to marry her, all she wanted was his assurance that he would always be there for her. The more she thought this way, was the more she wanted Mike. She could not overcome her feeling for him.

When Mike arrived his hotel, this time he didn't cause a scene. He came back in an SUV Ford brand. He met the receptionist who handed over his keys to him, and told him Cindy checked on him. He asked that no calls should be given access to his room throughout that day as he was going to be busy. This he did sensing that Cindy would come with a barrage of questions and he wasn't ready to answer any such.

Olivia woke up that morning, she got out of bed feeling slightly different from her usual self. She managed to get out of bed, walked to the sitting room where she sat down alone. The dream she had was beginning to bother her, she felt she would have handled things differently. The much she knew Mike, he wasn't that kind of a man who would run away from his responsibility. He had loved her from the first day they met, she recalled step by step the various times they had some good times. She could clearly recall his voice whenever he asked that they eloped and settle somewhere. Wouldn't this had been an opportunity for them to do the needful, she thought. Pat wasn't a hindrance on any way, after all she initiated all that was happening, she even suggested she got pregnant for him, now that she had got to that bridge, even though it wasn't on purpose as initially planned, she would have confided in Pat and told Mike. She wouldn't want to disobey her Aunt and her Mom who had seen reasons with her, but the effect of her actions had began to take hold of her. She decided she would have to think out an alternative way to handle it.

Mira turned around on the bed, opened her eyes, she didn't see her sister, she had been sleeping with her since Pat and Lucy came home. Moreover, she had noticed that she was somehow disturbed and felt it was possibly connected with the pregnancy thing. So she made sure to closely monitor her. She got out of the bed, checked the bathroom, when she didn't see her there, she went to the kitchen, she wasn't there either. Her heartbeat increased, where would she had gone she thought. It was rather too early for her to go to their mothers apartment, though it was morning, but their mom wouldn't be awake by now. She wanted to go check her room to see if she had gone to see Lucy or Pat, but on a second thought, she decided to check the dinning. She got there, and looked, there she was laying down on the three seater in the sitting room. Her positive was obviously that of one in a deep thought. Mira walked up to her, she got so close to touching her which startled her, that was when she noticed Mira was there. Mira sat down, raised he read and let it rest on her laps. She asked how she was fairing and tried removing he mind from any thought that she was having all the while. Olivia told her about the dream, and what had been going on in her mind about it. Although Mira could identify with her sisters understanding of the dream, she suggested they take it to their mother who they had always known to be an expert in that. Both ladies agreed to do that, and with Miras presence, Olivia's mood was lightened too. They chatted for so long before going back to the room to freshen up for the new day.

Meanwhile when Mike got inside his room, his mind was filled with Olive, he took up his phone more than ten times to call, but each time he does, he would eventually drop it. He paced round the room for sometime, before siting on the bed. He wouldn't have believed things would turn out this way between them, assuming someone had told him. He recalled the good times and money's they shared down at Africa, how they were always on each other playing and smiling. He wondered how they allowed something that could be ignored to bring such an enermous risk into their relationship. He had felt that his voice would bring about an exciting moment to her, buy he needed to allow her time to come around he thought. If only he would be left alone by these ladies who were bugging him, he would be in a better position as regards being patient.

When Cindy woke up that morning, she couldn't think of anything than Mike. She was still laying down on the bed, when she dialled his number, the number was still not reachable. She turned to the intercom and dialed his room number. She waited for someone to pick, the female voice came through, she was the receptionist;

Good morning, this is the reception desk, how at I help you?

Good morning, please I want to speak with Mike in room 50. Cindy responded.

The receptionist told her the guest had dropped an instruction not to be disturbed with a call as he had something important doing. Cindy thanked her and dropped the call. She wondered why Mike would give such instruction, does it mean he was avoiding her, or was there someone else disturbing him, these were thoughts in her mind. She quickly stood up and had a quick bath. She dressed up and decided to visit his room. She would rather hear from him one on one that guessing. She looked herself up in the mirror to be sure she looked beautiful, she had chosen something more decent, so as to avoid being embarrassed. She had come to understand the kind of person he was. Any shabby dressing would mean she was out to seduce him, hence her choice of decency. She left the room, took the lift to room 50. At the door, she tapped gently, there was no response, she repeated it, that was when his voice came through;

Wait a minute! He shouted

Cindy stood there for a few seconds, contemplating what and how she would go about it, she was becoming anxious and it was showing on her. She tried building confidence as she told herself it was either yes or no. As she was gathering herself together, the door flung open.
