The silence between Mike and Margaret based on what happened that particular night seemed to have stayed longer than desired, Mike felt that his position on that wasn't comfortable anymore, he decided to find a way of initiating a conversation on it. His mood had been a little bit lightened by that call from Brains, it brought back good memories of their trio back then in Africa. He wasn't sure things would get back to that point again, but however it turned out, he would be happy that at least the communication between them was restored. He was at the usual spot that he loved most in that house, that is the back garden. He sat on the swing seat, thinking why Brains never raised the trending news although their discussion. It was supposed to be at the front burner he thought, and believed that there was something he might be either hiding or avoiding. Whatever that was, he would only allow time to expose it.
While he was still in the thought line, his phone rang. He brought it out and behold, it was Philip. Mike was not expecting him to call that fast, the way Brains passed the information to him, seemed like he (Philip) was very busy and might not call that soon, but he should expect his call. He picked the call, and mentioned his name immediately to let him know he knew who was calling. Philip inquired of him how he had been, he carefully avoided anything that would bring about the trending news, their discussion was more of a reconnecting one, they ended the conversation in a cordial tone, agreeing that once Mike got to Africa, the trio would have a meeting. Again Mike after the call wondered why Philip towed the same line with Brains, avoiding the issue online. He felt perhaps it might be the reason for the planned meeting upon arrival to Africa.
He had just dropped the call when he saw Margaret approaching him, she hadn't been around for hours, although he was informed of her absence which has to do with a family issue. He actually enjoyed those few hours, if not for anything, he had time to think things through without interruption. Margaret got to him, bent down and kissed him on the cheek as a sign that she had missed him. She then took the next seat on the swing beside him. She asked if Mike had eaten, and how he had been all the while she left. When she had found out that he was okay, she got relaxed. She felt the urge to open up conversation on what transpired between them that night, but she thought it would be better discussed in the room, so she asked Mike that they get to the room for something she would want to discuss with him.
Mike never thought that what Margaret had in mind to discuss was that nights event, his mind was still on the trending news, he had made up his mind that he would stop her once she raised the topic. He wasn't ready to discuss it anymore, as long as he was concerned, the issue was a social media thing and it would die a natural death. The only thing that had bothered him though it still bothered him a little was Olivia's perspective on it. Immediately they got into her room, Margaret held him by his hands, and made him sit on the bed beside her, she then place her head on her shoulder, while massaging his palm. Mike felt it was possible she was desiring him, he wasn't ready for any sexual intercourse he said to himself. Right then, he began to think of a plausible excuse to refuse having intercourse with her.
Margaret looked Mike in the eyes and asked him the reason for which he behaved in the manner he did that night, the question took Mike by surprise. He couldn't understand why she would ask such a question with such boldness, neither could he understood the way he behaved the said night. Margaret didn't wait for his response, she went ahead to tell him his behaviors right from the club, in the car and all the way to the house. She repeated most of what he said and the exact way he said them which was an indication that he was actually drunk. She even told him some passes he made on some other ladies and how she let it slide knowing that he wasn't himself. Mike knew he was drunk that night, so he was able to identify with what Margaret was saying, but the level at which he messed up, he wouldn't be able to recall.
Be it as it may, all those story lines being dished out by Margaret, was not in any way Mike's interest, all he wanted and waited to hear was the part where they got to the room and went to bed. Margaret knew this, but she preferred keeping him in suspense for a little while, so she continued recounting what he was displaying while in the cab. From the story, it was obvious that Mike started initiating the mood for a sexual intercourse while in the car, one part of the story he didn't like. He became cold and embarrassed at that moment, no believing he was the one that acted in such a manner. It was his cold nature that restricted him from the quest to know more, hence giving Margaret the advantage to continue in the line she had chosen to tell the story.
In UK, Elizabeth was quick to make contact with the hooker, she was told that her name wouldn't be given out for security purposes. Lizzy accepted the terms, and asked the mediator to go ahead with the plan. The number was finally released to her that evening, she was so happy that she didn't waste any time calling immediately. Unfortunately for her, the number rang the many times she called without anyone picking. So she decided to let it be till the next day. Lizzy was still sleeping that early morning the next day when a call woke her up. Initially she couldn't recall expecting a call that early, so she reluctantly took her phone. When she saw the number, she was a little confused, but instantly, it flashed through her mind that it was the same number she called the previous night. Lizzy picked the call and the voice she heard confirmed to her that she was really talking to a Hooker.
The lady asked who was disturbing her that night with calls, being that Lizzy was once in the business and had experience on how to handle her kind, the response she gave her was able to calm her down. She then introduced herself, mentioning the mediators name. It was then the lady changed her tone and talked more friendly. The rest of the conversation were very cordial and they were able to agree on a date when she would give her reply on whether she would do the job and he amount she would take to do it. That was how they ended the conversation and hung up.
As soon as Lucy dropped he call, she turned back to walk into the apartment, there standing behind her was Olivia. She wondered if she(Olivia) heard her interaction on the phone, and waited to hear what she would say. Olivia who was just stepping out from the house almost at the time Lucy hung up didn't say a word. Lucy then felt the need to let her know what she was up to and how far she had gone. Olivia couldn't believe that Lucy was still head bent on finding out the truth as she claimed. It was then she picked interest, saying she wouldn't mind giving her the benefit of doubt. She also promised that, should there be any way she would need her help, she shouldn't hesitate to call on her. If was like a jackpot to Lucy, she became more bold and courageous to push for it. Something in her kept telling her she would succeed in getting the truth, even though she wouldn't know how nor when.
Olivia left her there and walked over to her mom's apartment where her aunt Mary was waiting. She was called to come over for a discussion, she had always known her aunt to come up with some divisive ideas and wondered what it would be his time. It was most unfortunate that her twin sister Mira wasn't around to help her on this one. Finally she got into her mom's sitting room where the two women where seated chatting. She hugged them and took her seat beside her Mom resting her head on her shoulder. Mary started by asking how she was doing and how she was coping with the early pregnancy. Then she explained why she visited, based on the information she got, that there was another young man who had shown interest to marry Olivia. At first, it sounded as if Olivia was in a dream, she refrained herself from saying any word or comment just to give room for possible repetition of the statement.
