Chapter 139

Kelly and Olivia met as planned, if was at the family hotel in the town. That was the place they had the very first chat after a long time. Olivia was with Mira her sister when she went to see Kelly, she asked Kelly if he wouldn't mind Miras presence, the young man answered her in a manner that indicated it wouldn't be a problem. Chase and Alicia were outside the near the parking lot, they weren't so much bordered because there were many security agents all around. Moreover, having seen that the two daughters of Ben Hart were around, there would be a double effort in making sure every eye is open and watchful. 

Olivia, Mira and Kelly took a seat at the VIP section of the ground floor lobby, where the waiter brought them some drinks and served them accordingly. Olivia apologized to Kelly for the last meetings interruption and the way he left without her saying goodbye. She took time to explain in details what happened. Kelly made them to understand that he never took it o heart, even though he had expected her to get back to him herself and say the desired goodbye. He had wanted to go straight to the point, avoiding the story this time round and telling her what he had in mind. He was almost close to speaking, but Miras question took him a back. Mira wanted to know what happened after his reinstatement and how things turned out between him and Pauline. In her mind, she had already predicted what would have happened, all she needed was a confirmation. 

While at home, she told Olivia her sister that she shouldn't panick, because Kelly wouldn't be proposing to her, rather she should allow him tell the story to the end. What she never told Olivia as that she suspected that Kelly was there to apologize and plead for her understanding and forgiveness. She felt it was better she heard it from Him, herself.

Kelly had to continue the story, believing that in a short while, he would see an opportunity to say his mind. 

His first day at the office was more of a party, he entire company staff were thrown into a joyful moment. Everyone came out to see Kelly, some who couldn't come outside, due to their busy office, and others who were high ranking officers that felt it wasn't he right thing, had to go to his office later. By and large, everyone was happy. An announcement was made that after working hours, everyone would gather to celebrate Kelly's return. 

Meanwhile, Kelly noticed that the office he shared with Pauline wasn't the same office she was using. He had to step out to the lobby and counted the number of floors below them before he was able to confirm this. It was a bigger and more than well furnished office space. Unlike what they had before, where he was in a different space while Pauline was in another, this time, they were together in the same space and they could see each other. The only demarcation they had was the transparent tampered glass that divided their both offices.

Kelly couldn't figure out why such plans were put in place, he could recall that he heard Pauline's Dad saying the would share office on same floor, but he never thought that it would be this close. The entire day was spent charging, there wasn't any pending nor were there any file or calls to attend to. When Pauline felt that the silence was becoming much, she suggested that they go around the offices for a routine check.

The arrangement made for after work get together, turned out bigger than expected. Kelly never expected what he saw, he was never informed. It was a huge surprise which was planned in such a way that he wouldn't suspect Pauline's involvement. He felt that few bottles of drinks especially wine that does not have high volume alcoholic content would be brought in, cups shared and a toast would be made;  after which everyone would disperse. He got the shock of his life when a buffet team began to set a table and different cartons of drinks began to arrive. At some point, his mind went off his welcome get together, and he began to suspect that something else or someone else was having a celebration, which might coincided with their plan.

Pauline was very smart and careful, she didn't in any way allow Kelly to suspect her. She was using her wassup chat to follow up on the few staff she had delegated to do the preparation job. It was actually planned to be a huge party, and the setting was meant for the entire staff. Pauline would be discussing with Kelly, and at same time be dishing out instruction to her 'workers' on her wassup chat. At some point, when she felt Kelly was going to suspect her, she would pause and find a way to distract him. 

By the time everything and everywhere was set, work time had elapsed. The tables were set, with different foods on them, the other side had the drinks too. The decorations were wonderful and amazing, such that many were already taking selfie and posting same online. Kelly made several efforts to get Pauline's attention so he would ask her to explain what was happening, but he couldn't, he felt it was due to how busy she was, meanwhile Pauline carefully avoided his signs.

At exactly 5pm that evening, the hall was filled with staff, the music was played at a low tone. They all sat down comfortably awaiting the take off of the event. Many where unaware of what the event would be like, they, like Kelly had thought it would be a small gathering for a cup of wine then they would say welcomed to Kelly and that would end it. Seeing all he things that were brought in, surprised them.

One of the men within the staff who was part of the plan, took over the job of the master of ceremonies, he did the introduction and stated the reason for the party. It was then that Kelly knew that everything was planner for him, but he could understand why the staff would throw such an elaborate party for him. It was true that he had been a nice guy to many if not all of them, but what they were using to appreciate him seemed far more beyond his deed. He could only but accept things the way he saw it, having it at the back of his mind that he would double his good deeds this time around.

The rest of the party was fun, as they ate, danced and drank. Kelly couldn't recall what happened after a while, being that he had taking a lot of drink and the only things he remembers was waking up in the same bed with Pauline. 

When he paused after saying that, Olivia and Mira looked at each other, they turned to Kelly and simultaneously asked him the obvious questions;

Naked? 

The way the question was asked, threw Kelly into a laughing mood. He then saw the opportunity he had sought for so long. Kelly stood up and took time to explain to Olivia why things didn't and wouldn't work out between them. He asked her to forgive him, as he never thought that things would go the way it did. He mentioned that the party night was the beginning of a different him, as he became an expectant father;

Olivia did not allow him to go down on his knees as he wanted doing, she couldn't hold the tears that ran down her cheeks. She remembered Mike and the child in her womb. She felt for Kelly, thinking, here she was, trying hard to listen to a man who she was as guilty as he was, pleading for forgiveness. She knew she wouldn't look the other way, so she whole heartedly accepted the apology. 

Olivia had wanted to open up to Kelly about he pregnancy, just to remove the burden of guilt from his shoulders, but a sign from her sister stopped her. Meanwhile, from the way Kelly's countenance had changed, it was obvious he was free from whatever thing he felt he had done wrong.

Mira was dumb founded, she had nothing to say nor could she ask questions. She knew had happened, it was obvious that the pregnancy was the motive for the party. She also suspected that there was tendency that the drink Kelly had must have been drugged. She couldn't understand why women could get this desperate and go the extra mile just to get a man. 

Mira thought of Mike, even as she looked at Olivia and wondered if the same thing was going on in her mind. It was possible she thought, that Mike might if he hadn't already fallen victim of same. The thought of it, made her feel that the men had a huge problem cut out for them.
