Olivia couldn't believe it when she heard Chase call and say he was out of the house and on his way to the airport. All that she could think of was the possibility that her Dad might have reached him for something or he (the Dad) was on his way back. Nothing else could explain it since Chase did not mention anything related to get job he was there to do. The last communication they had, was her telling him to be careful as he had been spotted out as a mole. As at the time, there wasn't any information to indicate that progress had been made in that line. If Chase could leave UK so soon without accomplishing the task, then he was leaving for something much more serious or important than the task she felt.
The rest of the day she wasn't okay, she was really expecting a good news when Chase's call came in, here she was having no news at all. She felt it would have been better if she got the bad news, at least she would settle it in her mind that he didn't succeed. She thought of Lucy, and wondered what her agent would bring as news. Already, the last news Lucy brought to her wasn't encouraging. She stood up from where she was and walked down to Lucy's room. There she met her relaxing, when Lucy saw her face, she knew that Olivia wasn't happy. Upon enquiry, Olivia told her it was nothing much, but the fact she was still expecting the findings so as to take he final decision.
Meanwhile, everyone of the agents that went for the party as undercover, seemed to have got result, though they did so in diverse ways. One thing was certain, the story line wasn't true. There wasn't any pre wedding arrangements of any sort too. That haven been established, the next big thing was how to change the narrative.
Cindy got the recorded voice interaction between Margaret and Chase, from which she became convinced that after all Mike never disappointed her. This made her happy on one side, but on the other hand, she wondered who must have sent Chase on such mission. It was clear to her that from Chase's voice, he was actually a professional in what he does. This meant that he must have been paid very huge amount to go that length. If that also was true, whoever paid him must have a rich background. She began to think the possibility of Olivia having a hand in it. Each time she thought about it, she would replay he recordings, and whenever she does, she discovered something new. After several replays, she decided to give the young man another job, this time, to find out about Chase and who sent him. Meanwhile she had already made up her mind to reach Mike on phone that evening and push for his return back to the US. She had her plans ready for the battle against anyone who would want to stop her from having Mike to herself.
Lucymang got back to hotel from where she called Brains. It was a long discussion, as she took her time to intimate him on all that happened and how it did actually happen. It was a life time experience for her, having come from a financial background, not a security one. While she told her story, Brains felt pity for her. He knew she chose to do the job because of her love for him. She had always disturbed him on how to make the three of them get back together the way they used to be. This was one of the reasons also, that she sacrificed her time and took the risk. One thing was certain, from her story, Brains had come to confirm that Mike never planned anything pre wedding. The next plan was to see him reconciled with Olivia. How they were to do that remained a difficult task, only time would tell whether they would succeed or not.
Lucy's contact was fortunate enough as the chef went all out to make sure she got result. He had to hand over the kitchen to her, and searched for Margaret and Mike. As soon as he saw Mike with the journalists, he hid at a corner very close to them. From his hidden place he was able to hear the discussion clearly. He patiently waited until the interview was over before he went back to the kitchen. It was while he listened that he got to understand fully what the girlfriend was after, but he wanted to be double sure, so he asked fhe lady what exactly she wanted to find out. The young lady opened up and told him the truth, which made him heave a loud sigh. He wondered how such information would be so important that a lot of people would come from far and near to access. Most times, it seems the Rich had less things to occupy them, so they wood always look for such things no matter how irrelevant to keep busy with and spend on.
While the chef was busy talking, all Lucy's contact was interested in was what he got. As soon as he told her about the interview, she took a deep breath and thanked him. She knew at that moment, the money paid to her wouldn't be returned. She excused herself from the chef to call Lucy. The phone connected immediately and Lucy mentioned her name indicating that she knew who was calling. She listened attentively and made sure she didn't interrupt her one bit. When she had done telling the story, Lucy asked her few questions to ascertain that she understood her quite well.
Lucy go off the phone, with great excitement. She had just confirmed that her instinct was right after all. She knew quite well that something's was amidst in the entire story, all that she needed was what she had got just to clear any doubt and confirm her belief. She dressed up and walked to Olivia's room to relate the news to her. It happened that Olivia's was on phone when she got there, so she had to take a seat and wait for her to get through with the call.
Olivia's call took a very long time, but Lucy patiently waited until she got off the phone. Olivia then welcomed her to sit close to her, she had already sensed that Lucy's mood was that of excitement and the only thing that could bring such at that time must be a good or positive news from UK. Lucy smiled and say down, then she told Olivia what she got from her contact person in the UK. She repeated her earlier conviction that something was not really adding in the story. Although Olivia believed her, she wasn't quick to say something, rather right inside her mind, she was to wait till Chase returned. She would have loved to tell Mira what she had been able to find out, but she felt that without Chase's part, the story would be incomplete. It doesn't really matter if Chase got result or not, that part would e important to mention in her story.
Olivia's quest to know the truth, was partly spurred by Lucy, but the other part was to justify her conscience in any action she was likely to take. Her love and Interest in Mike, was gradually fading away, except for the baby in her womb, she would have moved on. Sometimes, she felt it was nature's way of keeping her for him, other times, she would feel bad as if she made a huge mistake. The only thing she knew would be of help to her was her job. This she knew would keep her busy and make her think less of Mike. Although it would take another week before the commencement of duty, she saw it as one year. If she had her way, she would reverse it just to favour her course.
Chase was yet to board his flight back to Paris, when he got a call from his office. He was needed on assignment in the UK and as expected to move immediately. Every detail h would need was sent to his mail, including his hotel reservations. As it was in their line of duty, in such emergency, the agent involved would not be asked where he or she was, rather he or she would book the ticket and move, while the refund would be made afterwards. Such was Chase's case, only that this time, he need not book ticket, rather he would locate the hotel reserved and possibly print out whatever it was he needed to get the job done.
Chase knew that Olivia would be desperately awaiting his arrival, the mistake he made unlike him, was calling her to inform her of his return. It was one of the trainings given to them, even the married ones knew it too. You wouldn't know when duty would call, so it was expected that you do not promise your family when you would be visiting. Visits are more like a Surprise. Having realized the mistake he made, instead of calling back, he decided to get to his hotel first . He would have to call her from there, he thought. After all, what he had for her was good and positive news.
