You'll have to watch and see

Chapter one hundred and fifty-two

"I missed it," she said, not minding his cold stare as he watched her with his arms folded across his chest. He looked breathtaking in that position, but she wouldn't let his beauty distract her.

"Too bad, you're going to have to go back and get it." He said icily.

"If I may ask, why do you suddenly want two of the same order?" She looked curiously at him. She knew that there was no way he could finish two of them.

"Since when did you start questioning my orders, Miss Houston. Just do your job, and quit asking trifling questions." He said in a very mean tone and Anna bit her lip in anger.

What had gotten into him? Was this the same man she was with just last night? Why was he so mean today? Just this morning, he wasn't even this cold. She just hoped that the order wasn't hers. Without another word, she walked out of his office and found her way back to the restaurant. In a few minutes, she was back at the company and was in his office with the order.

She shot him a cold stare and turned toward the door to leave.

"Where do you think you are going, Miss Houston?" Xander demanded in an authoritative tone and Anna paused in her tracks.

"Come here." He demanded again. Anna heaved a deep sigh and turned her head back toward him, staring coldly at him. Xander didn't mind those stares, he in fact acted as though he couldn't see them. Using his forefinger, he gestured for Anna to come toward him.

When she eventually did, he ordered her to sit, and Anna obeyed him reluctantly.

"Unpack the lunch."

"I'm not interested. I'm not hungry." Her stomach however betrayed her as usual by wambling.

"I can see how not hungry you are," Xander said sarcastically, Anna however didn't move an inch. She stared into the space not minding Xander.

"Miss Houston, unpack the lunch," Xander said more firmly, but in a dramatic way and Anna tightened her jaw in response.

She unpacked the lunch and folded her arms in defiance.

"Grab the cutlery."

"I lost my appetite. I'm not eating." Xander however acted as though he didn't hear her at all. He folded his arms in anticipation of her positive response to his order.

"I'm waiting, Miss Houston." He said calmly.

"Just like I had every right to know that you intended that I take one of the orders, I have every right to say that I don't want to eat, Mr Williams." Her arms were still folded across her chest. Her eyes locked with his immediately after she spoke her mind.

"Are you defying me now, Miss Houston?" Xander asked, keeping a straight face.

"If this is defiance to you, Mr Williams, then, so be it." She said, shrugging at her words.

Xander rose from his seat and moved in circles around his table before stopping right beside Anna. He bent to match her height in her sitting position before speaking very close to her ears.

"Brave, Miss Houston. Very brave. I must commend this bravery. But you do know that this is costly bravery, don't you?"

His hot breath tickled her skin,  sending waves of pleasure through her and she closed her eyes. Today was one of the rare days when she had the guts to give Mr Williams comebacks.

"A- Are you threatening me, Mr Williams?" Anna asked, her eyes still shut.

"If this is a threat to you, then so be it," Xander said, using her words against her, and Anna bit her lips in annoyance.

"What would you do to me?" Anna didn't know where this boldness was coming from, but she didn't mind at all. She matched his gaze without flinching, showing him that she wasn't one bit scared of him. Anna's insides were already tied in knots. Her insides were screaming, but she didn't care a damn.

"You'll have to watch and see. Only then would you know what I'm capable of doing." He held her jaw firmly and his words which came as a whisper were so seductive and Anna found herself shutting her eyes in pleasure again.
