The meeting II

Chapter two hundred and forty-eight

"So, what do you do, Kathryn?" The mother asked after she had taken enough water to quench her thirst.

"I'm a businesswoman. I'm one of the shareholders of Brookswill and Sons Company," she said and they widened their eyes in surprise.

"Do you live with your parents?" It was Davis' father that asked.

"No, I don't. I live alone," she said in a very polite way.

"You live alone, here?" He asked in disbelief. He couldn't believe that one person could be living in such a huge house.

"With my maids," Kathryn said and he nodded in understanding.

"Tracy has told us so much about you." Kathryn looked at Tracy who has been silent since her parents came in. She looked to the side to meet her eyes but she discovered that she wasn't in the living room. She was probably in her room or something. What was she doing there when she ought to have been here?

She could have helped in making her feel less tense if she were in the living room.

"I wonder what Tracy said about me."

"Would you like to hear?" Kathryn looked up at Davis' mother wondering what she meant.

Wait! Did she say that out loud? Oh no! She was completely screwed. She had no idea that she said her thoughts. She was glad that she didn't say more than that. Kathryn smiled nervously at Davis' parents who were smiling genuinely.

"She told us of how kindhearted you are, Kathryn. You don't have to be scared. I can tell that you are a good woman. Ever since you came into Davis' life, I saw a change in him. May I add that it's positive too?" She said.

"Thank you so much, Kathryn. We love you. Right?" She said looking at her husband who nodded in response. Kathryn was so happy to see how Davis' family treated her. They were really good people, just like Davis said. She liked them both, his dad and mum. She had expected his mother to make her feel really uncomfortable but she didn't. She was in fact very nice to her. Kathryn felt so blessed to be a part of their family.

"What about your parents?" Davis' father asked.

"They are currently out of the country," Kathryn replied.

"Tell me that they know about you and Davis," Davis' mother teased.

"Of course, they do. I like to show my man to the world and my parents are one of the first people who know about my relationships," Kathryn said feeling more comfortable around them.

"You look more beautiful in person, Kat," Davis' mother said, and Kathryn was so pleased to hear that. She was not called "Kathryn" but "Kat". It only showed how comfortable Davis' mom was with her.

"A Coleman always has an eye for something good. Right, Davis?" His father said, grinning at him and Davis winked at his dad.

"Mom is evidence," Davis gloated and Kathryn smiled.

Davis' mother was really beautiful- long hair, round face, rosy cheeks, small frame, killer body and beautiful brown eyes. She looked really young. Davis got some of his traits from her but he looked more like his dad. Maybe he would have been more handsome if he looked like his mother. Tracy was the one who looked more like her mother. She had a round face like her mother.

"You know that I would take mom if only you didn't find her before me," Davis teased and Kathryn laughed.

"I'm not even gonna lie. I got guys who text me begging for ma's number. They keep saying things like, 'your ma is so hot, I wish I could f-"

Before Davis could finish his words his mother cut him short.

"You weren't just gonna talk about your mama being rogered, right?"

"I didn't say nothing, ma. Right, dad?" Davis licked his lips and Kathryn couldn't help but laugh.
