Elenor's pov:

The other girl had calmed down a little and Elenor kissed her temple.

"Now you know my deepest shame." Y/n tried to hide her emotions behind a joke.

"Don't do that," Elenor said sadly and brushed through the other girl's hair.

"Do what?" Y/n asked.

"Trying to hide your emotions with sarcasm. I know you feel down. There is no shame in feeling something." Elenor explained.

"But it's stupid to feel guilty and sad about something that happened years ago," Y/n replied.

"It's not stupid for you. Otherwise, you would not react like this. Am I right?" Elenor asked and let go of Y/n, so she could look her in the face.

Y/n said nothing and nodded.

"If you want my opinion, I would say it was not your fault. You tried to protect your friends and yourself. It was just unfortunate for the boy to step in between you and his father." Elenor said and caressed Y/n's cheek.

A single tear rolled down Y/n's face, as she looked at the ground.
