The last day

Playing with the Werewolves was a stupid decision being the short human I was.

Seven and Enzo went looking for a rare insect they spotted leaving me all alone with Ryan.

At least thank God the entire pack wasn't here.

He pushed me hard making me stumble back and land on my butt. "What the heck!"I holler at him. My voice as tiny as a rodent's.

"Why do you keep coming here? We bully the hell out of you."

"I'm only here because of my friends,"I huffed.

"Where are those friends now?"he mocked and kicked some dirt into my face.

"Quit it!"I yelled.

"Do you want to stop me?"he smirked.

I covered my eyes seeing his foot was slung back. Just in that moment a pair of legs appeared in front of me and I could recognize those jeans as Enzo's.

"How careless kicking around your personal belongings like that,"he stated. "You should really try hurting people that could actually do the same to you."

"Like you?"Ryan growled fisting his open palm.

"Perfect guess, but let's raise the stakes."

"What are you talking about?"

"If you win, you can do whatever you please with me... If I win... I'll drain you of just the right amount of blood I'll need to fill me up tonight... And judging from your stature. There might be none left."

Ryan's face lost it's colour. "That doesn't seem fair."

"Even if it was..."he grabbed Ryan's wrist and pulled him closer. "Would you fight me?"

"Let go of me man,"he whimpered and pulled himself out of Enzo's grip. "All you vampires are messed up,"he yelled and disappeared into the heart of the forest.

He turned to me and stretched a hand out. "Milady,"he grinned. "Thanks,"I tried to say without blushing.

He flipped me around and started to dust the back of my shorts making my cheeks flush. "It's a bit late Hilda, perhaps you should go home."

"But I'm fine staying with you guys."

"Ryan would have done worse if I didn't step in."

"But--"

"Shhhh... Let's get you home."

He always treated me like a kid. Probably because he was almost a century old.

He gently took my hand and started to lead me out of the forest. From a distance I could see Seven approaching us with some bugs in her hands. "Where are you taking her to?"

"Home."

"So early?"

"She almost got hurt... Maybe you should talk to Ryan... Either that or I'll kill him,"he said plainly.

"Kill him?"I rephrased.

"Yes... kill. It's not so hard,"he said.

"I would be happy to see Ryan dead, though,"she chuckled.

We spotted the opening in the forest that lead to the sidewalk my house was on. "Can you go home from here?"Enzo asks.

"Um actually... I have something to tell you."

Seven backed away knowing what this was about.

"Go ahead."

"Well, I've been keeping this to myself for a while but... I-- I um... I..."

"It seems you have trouble saying whatever it is... How about you tell me tommorow?"

I nodded reluctantly.

Seven winks at me and grabs Enzo. "See you tomorrow Hils,"she smirked.

If only we knew...

That there would be no tommorow.
