Silent but Spectacular

The charm of the movie may have different results using different shooting methods, but what is more important than that at this time is the funeral itself.

Looking at the funeral, the relatives of the buried people are all there. Almost everyone who has watched the first part knows that the deceased is the dead physicist in the first part who did not appear at all but influenced the three main lines.

The person who presided over her funeral was her mother, the female scientist who had proven to be anti-human. In this cemetery, there were other people attending the funeral.

As the camera flickered, people seemed to have seen the scene in the first film: Paul playing games.

However, in this film, he is no longer the protagonist.

And since it is a funeral, the time has obviously gone back to before the beginning of the first part. At this time, the Earth's Trisolaran organization has not yet been exposed, and the aliens have not yet shown their claws. So, what is the purpose of filming this period?

The funeral was coming to an end, and the people who came to the funeral were saying goodbye to her mother one by one. Soon, people also discovered the man who should be the protagonist of this movie, Robert Downey Jr.

It's just that he doesn't look particularly good. It seemed that he was intoxicated. It can be said to be very rude to attend a funeral like this. Even Susanna, a mother, couldn't help but ask who he was when she saw him.

"I know your daughter. I'm also a university teacher... Oh, wait, not in physics; I'm a Sociologist," said The Sociologist, portrayed by Downey, as he shook hands with Susanna and engaged in conversation. Susanna quickly caught on, "A sociologist? I didn't know my daughter had sociologist friends."

His identity caught Susanna's attention: Although sociology and physics are scientists, they are not closely related to the sciences. This identity is indeed a bit strange.

"We are not friends, we are colleagues. We once got together and tried to do some projects. They were just boring topics I brought up.

I often find myself wondering about the possible relationships between civilizations in the universe. What would those interstellar connections be like if others were out there?

Then I asked her for advice. She helped me add some scientific frameworks, such as the chain of suspicion and the explosion of technology..."

The bombastic sociologist seemed to be just talking about his own career. However, to the ears of the audience, his career seemed not so ordinary. The relationship between Trisolarans and humans is the most important thing in this movie, and here, there is a person who studied these things long before the Earth encountered a crisis.

More importantly, he received help from a dead scientist - everyone knew the dead scientist had an extremely unusual identity on this issue.

Could this be the most important part of the movie's puzzle?

The older woman also listened very carefully, but it was apparent her face gradually took on a solemn color.

Almost everyone knows that this old woman is not a simple figure. What is it that can make her so moved?

This question emerged in people's minds at this time. The camera moves to the tombstone again. There are also writings on the tombstone.

"The Three-Body Problem 2," - the official title, appeared here at this time.

If the funeral at the film's beginning gave people a small hint, then the following part directly excited the audience.

The movie screen went black and then began to glow. From the depth of the light, people felt that what was being photographed was already a cosmic scene, and soon, a planet also appeared in people's eyes.

The planet is almost blue, and its patterns are very familiar. At the same time, in people's ears, the sound of pumping and breathing in the astronaut's clothes rang out. This shot was in space, looking down at the Earth from an astronaut's perspective!

The movie begins in the universe, which is somewhat surprising to the audience. However, the scene of the space station quickly attracted the audience.

The camera opened again, and the space station was already in full view. And people almost don't notice that this shot is basically a long shot and no close-up shots are used because people who were still immersed in the magnificence of the Earth just now were immediately attracted by the appearance of the space station.

The space station was standing on its way back, and according to the conversations between the astronauts, people soon learned that the mission of this space station was to build an accelerator in the universe, trying to avoid the surveillance of sophons, and make contributions to human science.

The role and mission of this space station seem to be somewhat different from the real space stations on Earth today. It can even be said that it is quite science fiction.

This also tells people from the beginning that this story is no longer a story under the current technological environment on Earth. In the story, humans have acquired some of the technologies of the Trisolarans and have also achieved technological leaps and explored the universe.

This space station is proof.

Such a shot is not surprising. The appearance of the space station is just the normal beginning of a science fiction film. However, when people saw this shot, people felt a little strange.

This strange feeling is that this shot is really very real.

This kind of reality does not mean that the black-tech space station in this shot is genuine, but that the scenes of the characters in the space station that appear in this shot are very real.

There aren't many scenes of these people. They are just busy inside the space station, helping the spacecraft land. However, this seemingly simple action actually creates a state of weightlessness very well. This state has never appeared so vividly in movies in the past.

Observing the Earth through the subjective perspective of astronauts, filming the state of astronauts in the universe truly shows the state of weightlessness.

This is a problem for many movies.

The immaturity of shooting technology has not allowed this problem to be well solved. In a science fiction film centered around portraying future technology, such challenges have been exceptionally well-handled, leaving many people impressed.

He never imagined that he could see such a scene in a movie.

And almost all viewers also noticed another very important problem: in this cosmic scene, there is no sound in the entire shot.

This is certainly not the reason for the editing failure because when looking down from the astronaut's subjective perspective, the film's sound was very well done.

The breathing and pumping sounds in the space suit can be made well, but there is no way it can't make the simple whooshing sound when the spacecraft is flying. However, there is no sound here, which can only mean that the director deliberately did not want sound.

This part makes many people wonder: there is a vacuum in the universe, and sound cannot propagate in the universe, so there is naturally no sound in this cosmic scene.

This kind of thing is easy to understand, but it still arouses the interest of many people: space scenes appear in many science fiction movies, but not many can achieve the silent effect that should be achieved in a real space environment - many science fiction movies have chosen to make cannons roar in space scenes to achieve spectacular effects.

There is actually nothing wrong with this kind of magnificence, but the silence in front of you at this moment is magnificence in another sense - the magnificence of the universe does not need to be set off by objects such as cannons.

Maybe this movie really should be watched better in 3D mode.

Only in 3D mode can such a scene feel the magnificence.

Before this shot, 3D and IMAX were still very new things for many viewers, and many people did not recognize them. Moreover, the higher ticket prices also determined that viewers would not be willing to try this kind of thing easily. However, through the movie screen, the audience can know whether such a movie is really worth watching in 3D mode.

If you are in 3D mode, all such cosmic scenes are intuitively presented before your eyes, as if you are in the universe.

'Through the lens, I feel like I am really an astronaut, standing in space, looking down at the Earth' - such a three-dimensional scene is something that most people will never experience once in their lives.

It is possible to have such an opportunity with 3D.

After watching the 2D version of the movie, many people are considering whether they should watch the 3D version. Yes, the 3D version of the movie ticket is indeed more expensive, but if the entire movie has many such shots, then even spending more money does not seem to be unworthy.

A good movie can really make people feel the difference between 3D and 2D - not all 3D movies are just to make money.

While the audience was making calculations, the person who stepped off the spaceship was a physicist who appeared in the first film. The person who greeted him immediately asked questions.

"Can't the accelerators in the universe escape the surveillance of sophons?"

This question can be said to express people's aspirations. After the end of the first part, people's discussions have been going on. Among these discussions, one of the most important is whether human physics can avoid the surveillance of Sophons.

After all, there is only one Sophon. Can't humans avoid its surveillance by building more accelerators in space?

People have discussed this idea a lot, and some think this is the best way for humans to win. However, this idea has been proposed directly from the very beginning.

As movie fans, many people know very well that the plan that was proposed earlier cannot be the final answer. Otherwise, if it's done in 30 minutes, it's called a science fiction short film.

"No, we can't escape surveillance."

Sure enough, the answer given by physicists is the same. And this answer is equivalent to abolishing some of the methods people are discussing at the outset - so, what other methods did the film director prepare?
