5| This is not fair

When I woke up in the morning at exactly 6:30am.....yup! That's when I usually get up, especially when am on shift for the day. I washed my face in the bathroom, brushed my teeth and tied my hair into a messy bun before kicking off to my bedroom again just to part the curtains for the morning sunshine to flect it's rays into my room.

A grumpy yawn escapes my mouth, then, I remembered the kids.

Shit!

The kids would go to school today and....oh please, come on. What use is Nylah here for?

I place my hand on my chest, exhaling softly as i breath a sigh of relief. My husband would kill me if he found out his kids are late comers in school. Why do i feel that many people don't like me and demands for my downfall? Even the kids school are in support to tell him whatever happens about the kids arrival and departure, just to make him know how much effort am putting on why he's not around.

But this is not fair.

I checked the time in my phone once more, it's still not seven.

Great!

Just one second after tossing the phone on the bed, I picked it up again to check something I'd believe i ignored. It was ten missed calls from grandma and Shawn. And one message from Alyssa, asking me to cover up for her because she'd arrive late today.

I remember she told me she was going on a blind date with a random rascal. Pfft! I wonder how it went for her. Anyway, many gists for me when she arrives.

I walked into my walk-in closet to pick up my outfit and then, I took my uniform, made them neat with the help of a steamy iron, before folding them neatly into my bag. One thing I don't like is wearing my uniform from the house to work. Whenever I get to work, i can change my outfit. Moreover, it's a white top and white trouser, just wait until it gets stained.

It was quick after taking a warm shower, light make-up... I barely do makeups in the morning before going to work but I did today. Everyday can't be Christmas, just wanna change my appearance today.

I always keep my hair in a neat ponytail and that's why I don't get bothered or stressed out of flipping strands backwards.

My wristwatch, yes, before I forget. I wore it, wore my shoes too, grab my bag, my phone... I'll call grandma and shawn when i get to work. And then....what other thing am i leaving behind?

Hmmmmm...... nothing?

Let's assume that way.

I grabbed my things and hit for the stairs in a little run which seem like an haste. When i got to the floor before the foyer, I met Nylah plaiting Rebecca's hair into two fat strands. She had already made Isabella's a two ponytails. And now, she's fixing in her books into her backpack.

Billy on the other hand is busy having breakfast at the little dinner room on a corner. He takes his time whenever it comes to food. But at the same time, it waste much time. Knowing he eats like a gentleman.

Their chauffeur, John, is waiting for them at the foyer's entrance.

I heaved out a deep breath, not showing an expression as i say, "Nylah, good morning." Of course she's old enough to be my mother.

Nylah quickly got off what she was doing and lowered her head in respect, "Good morning, ma'am." She answered with a bright smile before lifting her head to look at me. "How was your night?"

"Splendid." Though i know it wasn't. But i faked a wide smile.

"Hi mom," My kids greeted me.

I gave a slight wave, still smiling like a saint. "Hello dearies, how are you?" I kissed Isabella's forehead when she came to hug my legs and then, Rebecca's who just finished with her hair. Billy is not an issue. He's just ten, but prefers to keep it neutral with the gesture. I knew he won't come over for a morning hug, just a polite way of saying it was enough for him and i hope he doesn't takes his father's footsteps.

"Hey, you better hurry up with that or else you'll run late." I told him.

"And perhaps, make us late too." Rebecca mumbled. Sometimes I wonder why she fears her brother so much. Beside him being the eldest, his silence would sent chills down the spines. And this is one reason why am always right of him not taking his father's footsteps.

I chuckled.

"Ma'am, your breakfast is ready." Nylah informed me.

Breakfast? Hell no. To others, am punishing myself, starving myself but to me, i don't just get the urge or appetite to dine into something yummy. I love junks and snacks. I find myself good in that and i wonder why i haven't turned into the size of a cable wire.

I sighed, silently with a smile as i shook my head. "Thanks, but am good."

"Ma'am, you went to bed last night without having a bite of something and now this morning, you're off to work with empty belly?" Nylah stated in a pitiful tone, and i knew her heart was bleeding for me. "If that be the case," She added before i could say a word, "I'll dish something in the flask for you."

Before i could refuse or say NO, she left and got out of the kitchen area with a medium Steel flask, big enough to swallow my head. And a narrow can filled with milkshakes.

Fuck!

How many people are gonna dine in this? "Isn't this too much?" I said, weirdly staring at the big thing waiting for me to carry it.

"When you can't finish it, invite your colleagues too." Nylah answered politely before walking away.

Invite my .....no not Alyssa, she's a big bag of foodie and that's one reason why i always refuse her proposal to visit. Billy was done in no time, grabbed his bag from the couch and also his lunch kits. His sisters did the same too.

They prefer to eat from the house than to eat outside.

I kissed their foreheads LATER, BABES. And watched them leave with John.

I was about to leave but then, my brows furrowed when i got to the exit door of the foyer when I saw five persons tripping in with stuffs.

"What's going on here?" I asked when one passed me by the door with a big bag without greeting. I hate being unnoticed.

The others followed without saying a single word to me. A middle aged man, Ortega the housekeeper ran out, panting like he just had a marathon. "Am sorry, Mrs. Calloway." He paused, trying to catch his breath. I faced him with a brow corked upwards, "Mr. Calloway is arriving today."

Oh wow. Not surprised by that. After all, he never tells me things and if he wants to, he'd deliver them through an outsider rather than telling me directly. You can see, i have no respect as a wife anymore. The last time i snapped at him for..... actually, maybe i freaked out because he had to pass out a message which was supposed to be delivered to me through Nylah, i overreacted and when he returned, he burnt my inner thigh with a steamy iron.

I still have the scar today till tomorrow but no one knows, except i tell them.

Now, am keeping my mouth shut. If he likes, he tells me whatever he wants to and whenever he wants. If he also like, he doesn't at all. I don't mind. Who am i to question him?

I shrugged off the burden of bad memories from my shoulders and head towards the garage where I'd park my red Renault car. I have so much to do in the cabin today.
