Bearing The Responsibility

"...I'm sorry."

The response to Dylan's apology was a soft chuckle from Liliana. Turning her head away from the front mirror of the car, she glanced at her brother. He was sitting behind the wheel.

The passing lights from the lampposts poured over into the car, casting a glow on their silhouettes.

"I'll be upset if I hear you apologize again," Liliana amusedly scolded Dylan, "You've been repeating it more than ten times already."

Dylan's gloomy expression sank further. He unconsciously tightened the grip on the steering wheels. His veins popped on the back of his hands.

"Still... I'm actually ashamed to face you now, Sister Lili."

Liliana was distressed hearing how sullen Dylan's voice was. She had always known him as a ball of sunshine. Thus, this minor change flooded her heart with discomfort.
