Sensing the further drop in temperature, Thomas didn't dare to delay his response any longer. Even though Old Master Ding said nothing anymore, it was obvious that he was waiting for an appropriate response.
First, he needed to incite sympathy from Old Master Ding.
Thomas coughed once. With his heart pounded heavily against his chest, he began speaking.
"Old Master Ding, I know you're upset over what happened between my daughters last night."
Thomas's voice rose over the suffocating silence. His tone sounded normal yet, possessed a slight tremor. Anyone as perceptive as Old Master Ding could sense it.
Narrowing his eyes, Old Master Ding's gaze on Thomas was like a hawk watching over its prey. The latter's starting words were enough to show his stance on this matter.
Still, Old Master Ding didn't interrupt Thomas. He wondered what else the man would say in order to protect his beloved daughter.
