She Yearned For Absolute Solitude Tonight

Creak...

Liliana unconsciously straightened her posture once she saw Mrs. Sui coming out of Cassia's bedroom. She had been standing by the wall for over fifteen minutes, right after she returned from having dinner at the main building.

"Did my mom finish her dinner?" asked Liliana quietly, her eyes trailing from the food tray in Mrs. Sui's hands to the private nurse's face.

"Miss Cassia only had a few bites," replied Mrs. Sui with a helpless smile, worry imbuing in her voice, "Aside from me, she said she doesn't want to meet anyone else tonight."

Dejected, Liliana's head drooped. She nodded weakly, "...I see. Please look after my mom, Mrs. Sui."

"Please rest assured, Miss Liliana."

Carrying the tray of unfinished bowl of congee, Mrs. Sui left for the annex kitchen. Liliana continued standing outside Cassia's bedroom, her eyes dimming as worries tugged at her heart.
