War. War never changes. In the event of a catastrophic battle that had the potential to wipe out everything he had sworn to protect, Emperor Freud had a duty to his nation. As both its leader and its strongest warrior, Sig had an obligation. Whether to secure peace through diplomacy or overwhelming firepower, there was no way the Emperor could bow down to what could be considered to be an inferior nation. Not only would it be a detriment to Mathema's standing as a continental power, but it would also show that his rule was weak and feeble if it would surrender to such a puny country.
However, the same could not be said when in regard to his people.
