Chapter 24: All Things Must Crumb to an End

Sebastian's POV.

The witch named Lydia holds out her palm and turns it over, and Gigi, Lucas, and I lift up into the air. We are suspended feet above the floor.

"Wednesday Witch, come on!" Lucas protests. "You promised."

Lydia's eyes narrow, "I still don't get that reference."

"Wednesday Adams. The Adams Family." Lucas sounds put upon. This is not the first time they've had this exchange. "'Wednesday's child is full of woe.' Describes her perfectly. You too. I mean, look at you!"

Lydia growls. Like, audibly growls. Gigi and I share a look. Lucas, on the other hand, seems completely unswayed to drop it.

"It's one of my better nicknames." he presses Lydia. "I want credit. You promised you'd watch it."

Lucas struggles against the spell. He looks like he's trying to run in roller skates. This earns him a self-satisfied grin from Lydia.
