Shh.... Sleep

The next time Xie Ai woke up, he was back in his room, covered with not just one but two blankets. He sat up on the bed and rubbed his eyes, glancing around. He stared at the silent room in a daze.

Actually, he still remembered what had transpired a while ago, but at this moment, he wondered if all of it was his imagination. A frown crossed his forehead as he pondered.

Even though he was a genius in his field, that didn't mean he had tried every single virtual world of his. He could code and create horrific characters himself, but that didn't mean he could be calm and composed while facing them in real life.

The moment he thought of that dead body, his entire body trembled from head to toe. Even though that girl's body was naked, it didn't matter much. Every pore of her body was torn; it seemed as if someone had beaten her to death. Her eyes widened in terror as if staring at something horrifying in front of them.

It could be said that only her face remained intact.

Xie Ai shook his head.

No, it might be his dream—a terrible nightmare. Yes, that's what it was!

The next moment, Yu Weimin's voice was heard from the outside as footsteps echoed into the room.

"There were no signs of struggle when she was bound."

"Eh, it looks like some ghost made this arrangement. Let me see." The other man thought for a second and said, "Could it be that she was taken to another dimension, starved to death for a few days, beaten like hell, and brought here?"

"Yes, possible."

And the door was opened as Xie Ai's ashen and pale face was revealed.

Yu Weimin raised his brows. "You woke up quite early."

"Yeah," said Qi Jingguo as he placed his hand on his lover's shoulders and pointed his finger at the white-haired man's face. "He's really a one-of-a-kind newcomer. Others vomit and faint, and they are out for, like, the entire day. And look at him; he's awake just after an hour."

Xie Ai's mind was blank at this moment. It was blank after listening to the conversation between the couple.

His face turned paler at the moment.

So it turned out…. That dead body wasn't a nightmare but a cruel, bitter reality. His heart sank as he sat there. His mouth was dry, and he licked his lips, trying to moisten them.

"Wh…what's happening? Why is there a dead body?" Xie Ai's belated anxiety finally kicked in after such a long time. "No, why are we even here? What is this place? Weimin, please tell me this is a dream. Otherwise, why would I see the ghost of a little kid in the middle of the night? His eyes… No, this must be a nightmare!"

Yu Weimin narrowed his eyes. "You saw a little kid in the middle of the night?"

Xie Ai nodded and blurted out, "Yeah, under my covers...." After a moment of silence, he asked, stuttering, "H-he won't kill me, will he?"

"Well…." Qi Jingguo shrugged. "If he wanted to kill you, or if he could even kill you, you wouldn't be alive."

The meaning was simple. The dead woman would be him.

Xie Ai trembled at the thought as thick drops of tears rolled down his cheeks. He took a few deep breaths and glanced at his two friends in a helpless manner. He looked on the verge of falling apart at this time, not knowing what to do.

Unfortunately for him, the two people in front of him weren't good at coaxing. So after staring at the young man for a few seconds, Qi Jingguo chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck, and said, "Uh, I have to go and check the dead body one more time. Right, baby?"

Yu Weimin also nodded as the two walked out of the room one after another, not sparing Xie Ai a single glance.

The latter stared at the empty room as a gust of cold wind passed through him out of nowhere. He shivered, wiped his face, and lay on the bed, covering his body with the blanket.

"Those bastards! They don't deserve to be my friends anymore!"

He thought he wouldn't be able to sleep again, seeing how crazy his night had been, but he eventually went back to sleep. As he slept, he felt someone's cold hand caressing his forehead.

His eyes momentarily flickered open as a whisper called out into his ears, "Shh…. Sleep."

And with this, Xie Ai, as if hypnotized by that voice, closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The next moment he opened his eyes, it was already early morning. A bell rang in the background as he blinked once again.

He sat on the bed and silently touched his forehead, frowning.

Why did he feel like someone had touched his forehead in the middle of the night?

After pondering over it for a second, he shook his head and pushed open the door. He turned to look at the upper bunk. Those two bastards seemed to be still sleeping there.

He ignored them and walked out of his room, glancing at the room where that dead body had been tied up at night. A trace of hesitation appeared in his eyes before he took a step toward that place.

Since he was already here, even though he didn't know until now what 'here' meant, he still wanted to know what was going on. So he walked closer and closer and stood right in front of the door, hesitating once more before gritting his teeth.

He took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

No thick, bloody smell hit his nose. Instead, he smelled something dusty, as if this room hadn't been used for a long time. He could already see dust all over the place as the bed was made.

Xie Ai's brow rose in surprise. It didn't look like it was cleaned up. Instead—

"You're right," said Yu Weimin, walking further inside, narrowing his eyes at the bed. "It seems like it hasn't been used for a long time."

"Then… What happened to the other girl?"

"She didn't dare to sleep here. So she bunked up with someone else."

Xie Ai nodded in understanding as he finally asked what he had wanted to do for a long time. "Where's this place?"

"I know what you wanted to ask." Yu Weimin said, patiently trying to explain something for the first time, "I'll only explain it once. So listen carefully."

At this time, even Qj Jingguo walked inside as his hands went to his lover's waist. He rubbed his eyes, yawning. "Did you just wake up?"

"Hmm." And there went Yu Weimin's attention toward the other person's face in the span of just a second. "Watch where you're rubbing."

Qi Jingguo's hands had directly gone over to a certain someone's butt, squeezing a certain part, chuckling as he said, "So what? You belong to me."

"Cough, Weimin, I asked you a question just now?" Xie Ai swore in his heart—if it weren't for the situation, he would have vented his pent-up anger right here, right now.

He was already sensitive to romance. How could they still sell dog food freely all over again?! Did they forget his condition already?!

When Yu Weimin saw his friend's expression turning darker and darker, he finally cleared his throat and decided to explain.
