Big Brother!

The three of them walked toward the first floor through the stairs. Xie Ai ignored the presence of those two behind him as he walked ahead without turning back. Only after walking for a while did he realize that there was no sound of footsteps anymore.

A frown crossed his forehead as he looked behind.

Sure enough, there was no one except for an endless corridor. Even the gloomy corridor, full of darkness and fungus, changed into a clean place. The walls were suddenly full of paintings and decorations, and a red carpet lay beneath his feet. Although he couldn't see the paintings, he could clearly make out the red and black colors in them.

The sound of footsteps abruptly echoed, so close that he reacted immediately, stumbled back, and was about to fall when a pair of strong hands held him by the waist, pulling him back. He firmly stood there in someone's embrace.

Xie Ai's heart skipped a beat as he stood there in a daze for half a second before he struggled. He was about to open his mouth when the person holding him said, "Shh…." The man's fingers circled around his waist in a soothing manner as he continued. "Don't speak yet. Watch."

That voice was too familiar. Xie Ai's heart thumped in his chest as he blurted out a name he had longed for a long time, "Yu Chen…."

"Who's Yu Chen?" The person's voice was full of confusion.

That question made Xie Ai come back to his senses and shake his head, indicating he didn't know. Before he could ask just what was happening and why the ghost behind him holding him like this, a lady appeared in front of him from the stairs. Her face was cold as she wore an elegant red dress. Her stomach was round, making her look pregnant.

She walked over and stood by the window, staring outside into the open ground. Then she lowered her gaze and caressed her big stomach. A sneer rolled out of her throat. "You dare to come into my stomach. You'll surely face the consequences after you're born. Stay happy and safe until you can. I'll definitely kill you."

Xie Ai frowned and looked back, only to realize that the ghost holding him had disappeared all of a sudden. These events were so strange that he forgot about that lady for a moment and started searching for Yu Chen.

His face paled as his breathing went fast, trying his best to find the ghost. But by the time he turned around to glance at the lady, the scene had already changed.

A kid, five years old, ran through the corridor and rushed past him, not even sparing him a glance. Xie Ai's eyes widened as he turned and looked in that direction.

He immediately followed the kid.

That child must be Yu Chen, right?

Xie Ai didn't know what was going on with him. That ghost clearly killed two people. That handprint on the shirt of a dead body was perfect evidence to back up his understanding.

But…

Even then….

He couldn't stop himself from going to that person, despite knowing he might end up like those dead bodies. There was a hint of urgency hidden deep in his heart, making him feel choked up.

Maybe this was because the other person looked like Yu Chen.

It was a terrible joke on him, honestly. He had indeed loved the other person wholeheartedly, but in return, all he got for his loyalty and heart was an order to kill that person with his own hands.

How could he reconcile with this situation? He had spent the past few months in a dazed situation, becoming almost akin to a machine that only knew how to perform its duties.

But ever since he arrived in this strange place, the walls he had built around his heart were slowly shattering bit by bit. He didn't know whether that ghost really was Yu Chen, but his heart was no longer peaceful.

Just take the current situation as an example. Xie Ai should have run for his life, seeing the ghost hugging him from behind, but he was stunned and speechless as his entire body froze. It almost felt like he had been waiting for the man for a long time already.

He soon found the kid hiding behind a pillar as his small body trembled from head to toe. He looked so frightened that you could hear the sound of his teeth clattering from a distance.

Xie Ai knew that he shouldn't sympathize with a ghost who had killed players, but he couldn't stop himself from doing so. He felt like his own body wasn't listening to him anymore as he raised his hand and caressed the soft hair on the head of the little kid.

The child suddenly raised his head, feeling the touch. At this time, his face wasn't as terribly pale as earlier, and even his emerald eyes looked full of life. Everything was fine if you ignored the traces of tears on the corners of his eyes.

A drop fell down his cheeks as he opened his mouth, saying, "Big brother…. It's you."

Xie Ai's eyes softened at the sight of him as he said, "Don't be afraid. Your big brother is here."

The little boy suddenly held out his hand and grabbed the man's wrist, pulling it firmly. His eyes were full of fear as he restlessly glanced about here and there. "No… Listen to me. You have to run away. Please, run as far as you can. Please, I beg of you. You have to live!"

Xie Ai was stunned at the sudden change that he had witnessed. "You… You want to save me? Why?"

The kid wanted to reply, but before he could, his mouth closed as his face paled even further. He looked at something behind Xie Ai's back, trembling once again from head to toe.

"So I see you're hiding from your mom." The woman in a red dress appeared once again.

The kid immediately held out his hands as cold energy passed into Xie Ai's body. After that, he let the hand go, looking even paler than usual.

Xie Ai looked at his hand, frowning. Then he turned toward the lady, getting frightened himself. But he still gritted his teeth and stood there, shielding the little kid from the lady.

His instincts told him something was terribly wrong with her.

Just then, the palms of a five-year-old boy touched his back lightly as he whispered, "Big brother, don't bother. She can't touch you now."
