Chapter Thirteen: I Don't Deserve This.

She came back home that night to an empty house. Narika was feeling hurt, scared, and unsure about her behavior with Morgana.

She could understand her reasons for being so hostile with the woman, afterall it's not everyday that one would receive such slamming news, about a ghost haunting her.

Not just haunting, she could make out the meaning behind everything Morgana has said, the ghost wants her. But that's absurd.

All she wanted was to find answers, but maybe staying in the dark about what Adrik wanted with her seemed better, than the series of thoughts going through her mind right now, at trying to digest Morgana's words.

She felt her phone ringing, but she was so lost in thoughts that she didn't pay any attention to that. All she wanted was to see her parents, especially her mother.

Telling her about what she had done today would surely make her freak out, and worried but she didn't want to cause her lovely mother more troubles, by keeping this to herself any longer.

She needed help, and that help would only come once she talked to the only person she knew was certainly going to understand her, and find her a way out of this.

When she brought the phone up to her view, she sighed out loudly when she noticed that it was Zoe calling rather than her parents.

Narika moved her thumb against the reject call section, and switched off her phone when she's done with rejecting her call.

The young lady moved over to take a drink from the fridge, only to find another note lying on top of it.

Her body freezed where she stood, and she found her heart palpitating more than its regular beats. A whole series of questions running through her mind.

Whereas, the one question she couldn't utter was who wrote the note. The fear Adrik had instilled in her this morning, since after she read his note had made the poor young girl paranoid, and miserable.

So miserable that she didn't take note of the unknown figure that stood in the dark watching her. Just like his heart was dark, and filled with nothing but anger, revenge and the strong urge to kill her right now.

Adrik's fist was tightly clenched in anger, he knew he shouldn't have come here because there's no way he could stop himself from not hurting her.

But it couldn't be helped, the mere realization that dawned on him after tailing Adrian, and  the culprit behind Polina's death, Alex Singh, today to his uttermost belief, he realized that they couldn't see him.

A discovery that made Adrik question himself, and whatever superior being that was toying with his life. He knew for a fact that it wasn't a mere coincidence, nor by luck that he didn't cross over just like any normal ghost.

But having to live the past five years while putting his plans in order, and when finally he was on the verge of arranging a car accident for both Adrian, and his dad while they were on their way back from Polina's memorial.

The hurt in his heart held no bounds when his powers didn't work on them, it was like another external force was blocking his way, from doing what he wanted with the both men.

But disappointment was on the top list of his day today, which inturn made him come here instead. He didn't know why, but he knew he wanted to see her.

He wanted to see her face, Polina's face that another female is now wearing. The very discovery he mentally noted, was the distinct difference between both women.

Polina is everything! She's a sweet, kind and selfless human whereas it's not the same with her niece, she might have the innocent look like Polina's but she's dangerous, to have gone to involve a strong medium like Morgana in this.

He made a note about her friend, Zoe, and knew that as much as he wanted this girl to be scared of him, just like she is right now while staring at the note that she thought was his doing.

Zoe might become a hindrance to that, he wouldn't lie. Morgana, the witch, was strong, and had prevented his interference in what was going inside her chamber, where Narika had walked out angrily.

He didn't need anyone to tell him that she knew what he truly is, the anger seeping off her fed him, and he couldn't help but marvel at that because that's what he wanted.

He has no idea what measures she might have taken to stop him, but watching her switch off her phone on her friend, gave him the idea that she didn't believe.

She didn't believe that he's real. She didn't believe that the moment she was born carrying the exact face as his beloved had damned her future, and her life.

Her life was already ruined the moment she was born into this family, the one he would be putting an end to every single one of them soon.

So, watching her scared  gaze fixed at the note made him eager to play a game on her. After all, she's alone, it was just the both of them here and he could do whatever he wanted with her.

He always loved the scared look on her face, the joy it drives him to watch her question herself if she had not gone mad.

With that being said, he raised his hand towards the closed windows and slowly, they started to open.

She was still in the state of shock where she stood, Narika was contemplating on checking  the note after all, her parents always drop a note if they weren't going to be back home any day.

So that's just it, that's her mother who did that, and not just any ghost. It wasn't Adrik!

That's what the young lady told herself, before she heard the creaking sound of the window tugging open by itself.

"No!" She whispered to herself, moving back instantly and slamming herself against the wall. " It's not real, it's not happening Narika, he's just trying to mess with your head again."

The tears she had stopped herself from shedding while on her way back home, after her meetup with Morgana, started to drop down her porcelain skin when she realized that it's real.

Her now sensitive ears itched up, and heard the other window wide open just by itself, and did she forget to mention the door that started moving on its own.

Morgana was right!

He's real!

At this moment, she knew that her anger had gotten in the way of the help that Morgana, could have granted her tonight.

Adrik was here, and the motherfucker was toying with her mind, and what made it the worst case scenario was that she was all alone again.

When she remembered that Zoe might still be calling her, she went for her phone that was on the center table in the kitchen.

But prior to taking it up, the phone was snatched out of her grasp by an unknown force, she didn't see.

"No! Leave me alone, I don't deserve this!" She cried loudly, her back moving against the wall as the light in the kitchen started flickering on and off at a high speed that could make the bulb burst.

"What do you want from me?!" She yelled, holding on the edge of the counter as the window flaps against the air, just like the door did too, the annoying switching on, and off of the light didn't help at all.

Her mental health was on a huge zero, as truly she knew that before the next morning to come, she's going to be a goner. She would have gone crazy by then.

Meanwhile, Adrik stood right in front of her watching her battle with the thoughts of running away from home, but he read her mind and found out that she was a smart one.

Like what she was going to say once she's out?

Trying to explain him to anyone right now, was good as locking her up in the rehab center which he won't like for now, well until he's done with her.

"I don't de..serve this, let me be Adrik!!" She shouted lastly, before the darkness clouted her visions. She nearly fell to the ground, but he was fast in holding her right up in his arms for the very first time!

He was dumbstruck!

This wasn't what he signed up for, carrying her in his arms while all he wanted was to torment her more, to know how much more she could endure before she truly called his name.

Well, she finally did before passing out, and he won't lie to not say that it didn't tug at his heart hearing her call his name.

It sounded so surreal, it sounded like Polina was calling him.

He looked down at the sleeping beauty in his arms, and figured out that it would all be over, once he snaps her neck and ends this once and for all.

But watching her features now she's in close proximity with him, made all those bad thoughts fade away. All he wanted right now was to stay like this, to hold her close to him because she's Polina.

No, she's not!

He sassed at his thoughts, but yet he couldn't look away from her face. Everything about her was perfect, an ethereal beauty for someone as naive as her, she was beautifully endowed no doubt.

He watched her sleep in his arms, and in no time found himself smiling at her, but that was short lived when he realized what just happened.

What is wrong with you Adrik?

He mentally yelled at himself, and with a flip of his hand they appeared in her bedroom, and placed her on her bed.

He watched her in the dimlight, how she slept peacefully without realizing that she housed a monster that wanted nothing, but to strangle her in her sleep.

But he knew that wouldn't be possible anymore, no! It's just for tonight, his revenge still lives.

That's what he thought, before leaving in the darkness where he came from, while she slept peacefully just for tonight.

But that might change tomorrow, who knows?
