With each passing seconds that went by, she could feel her sanity leaving and her mind getting congested, allowing the negative thoughts to seep in which gave the young lady quite a scare, when she realized that it was all Adrik's doing.
She knew it.
She didn't need any confirmation from anyone to back up her claim, needless to say that she needs a pretentious best friend, that couldn't do anything to help ease what is going on.
Whereas, she knew right now that she's on her own. It was just her against the cold world. So, while she sat waiting for detective Homer, to come interrogate her asper his claim.
Narika knew that once it has surpassed forty eight hours, and there's no significant evidence to show that she killed Morgana, then she would go in bail.
She hoped that would be the case, it has to. After all, she isn't lying. She wasn't a killer, Adrik is the psychotic one who is capable of doing that.
So while she sat, while handcuffed too, she got tired, and felt her eyes closing against each other. Narika was no fool, she knew her right and had demanded to call her father, since he was the only one in the best position to provide a lawyer for her.
But she was denied that access, it still felt so unreal. Detective Homer, who had gone all the way out to look for her yesterday night, had boldly believed that she had something to do with Morgana's death due to her weak alibi.
She rubbed her hand together to ease the unease tightening in her chest, as it had come to her that no one knew her whereabouts yesterday.
But heck! The day before Morgana's death was spent at home, after their little misunderstanding. Maybe Zoe thinks she's the one that did it?
After all, she knew her secret. She was the only person who knew that she's different from the other humans. At first, she didn't believe it, when she told her about her special ability not to bleed.
Recalling back to her first reaction at getting her to speak about Adrik, Zoe didn't believe her. She called her crazy, so she's the one who reported her.
"Oh! Stop it Narika, stop being lame minded. She's innocent." The young lady mumbled to herself before pushing her head backwards, away from her face, while trying to calm her nerves down.
But she was more worried about something else, and that is her mother finding out about Adrik through Zoe.
Nah! Zoe is really dramatic and wasn't in the next position to tell her mother anything. But it was too late. Judging from her mother's attitude, last night proved her suspicion that she already knew all this while.
Narika didn't know if she should be happy that she found out about Adrik, her mother's mother would certainly know what to do, but that would mean traveling back to Delhi, where they left because of her.
Her mother had to leave her hometown, because the people couldn't keep their hate to themselves, as they didn't know what she was, because of her special ability. They feared she was something harmful to society.
Hypothetically , if the news about what she is, and also about gets announced in Town. That would only mean that they would have to leave again, and it's all because of her.
Maybe the people weren't all wrong?
Maybe she's such bad luck? Why is she the only person that gets to see him, that gets tangled in such a mess she didn't know how exactly it was related to her.
The nervous breakdown of Narika, had her crying away in isolation. That too, didn't help anything and before she knew it, she cried herself to sleep.
Until she felt the soft caress at her hair, someone was here with her and the thought of having human company made the young girl wake up instantly, and met Zoe's blue eyes.
"You were asleep" She said shyly, as if it was more of a mistake to wake her up. But it wasn't a problem for Narika, who didn't know whether to be angry or sad at her.
She's annoyed, but this isn't Zoe's fault. It's all because of one man, Adrik!
"How did they let you through? I asked for my dad, but they won't let me do that." She asked, scratching her hair that felt messy against her hand, heck! She hasn't even washed her hair.
"I had to plead with the detective, I needed to see you soon before things got real messy" Zoe replied, sitting down in front of her in a careless manner, that had Narika notice that but she waved that off.
"I didn't do it Zoe, and you know that too."She said, more like pleading with Zoe to put in a word for her, since the detective seems to warm up to her.
"I know Narika, but we don't have to lie about basic things between friends," Zoe said bitterly, giving her the initiative that she didn't believe her words.
"I didn't lie to you Zoe, how could you think that I'm capable of doing such a thing. We both know this is Adrik's doing, he has me on watch twenty four seven Zoe.."
"Including now,?" Zoe asked,a smirk fanning her feature's but it was long gone before Narika could comprehend that.
"Yes..I mean no, I don't see him unless he lets me, but i do know that he's the one playing games with me, I don't want to go to jail, Zoe." She nearly cried, grabbing Zoe's hands which were cold unlike her normal warm hands," you can't leave me alone in this fight."
"Fight?" Zoe retorted back, removing her hand from her own before standing up to face her." This is a fight, Narika? well you can actually call it that. The fight has nothing to do with you, and you know that too. You are nothing but an achievement, well what do you humans call it..,"
She trailed on, making Narika's face contour in confusion because she's not speaking like her best friend.
"Yes, a reward" she grinned, bending down to Narika's eye level and grabbed her jaw into her hands,.. surprisingly, her hold on her was tight, she could injure her." You are nothing but my possession, kitten. You are all mine," He chuckled darkly.
Narika backed up against the wall instantly, when she realized the situation here.
"You are not her, you .are n.ot Zoe," she stuttered, no matter how hard she tried to come out strong against him. She's still scared of this man.
This monster!
She looked around her, trying to look for what she could use to defend herself in case he wanted to hurt her.
But who was she kidding? She's in an interrogation room, the cops wouldn't have left any weapon she could use against them.
She heard him laugh sinisterly, before starting to take really dangerous slow steps towards where she was backed up against the wall in fear, just like he liked.
"Ofcourse I'm not your friend, kitten, we are more than that aren't we?" He teased.
"Stay away from me, you have done enough, you devil!" She shouted, wondering how it was possible that the cops hadn't heard their voices already.
She saw something switch in his eyes at her calling him a devil, and before her very eyes he transformed back to his very self. A dangerous handsome temptation.
Why does he have to be so fine? yet twisted and insane enough to find peace bringing her such pain. Why?
He finally closed the gap between them, this time around their eyes looking at each other and he loved that.
Those eyes!
God!
Focus Adrik!
"It's such a pity that you still find me repelling, judging from the fact that we are engaged, babygirl, and you missed your engagement party."
He said lastly, watching her face changed instantly at the mention of their engagement party.
"Fuck this shit! You are so pretty."He cussed loudly, his patience running low before closing the remaining gap between them, and took her seductive plump lips into his own willing ones.
It felt like heaven, indeed.
No, it was heaven!
