Derek flatly refused, and he could see her face contort into a frown, and she gnashed her teeth. "Why didn't you kill him before, you cheating bastard!"

"What?" his chuckle made her more furious as her face burned deep red. She blamed Derek for sparing the man so he could use him as an excuse.

She knew Derek still downplayed his powers or else she would have jumped on him.

"Let's go. It's already late" he spoke in a soothing tone but Li Mei snorted, her eyes burned with different negative emotions all fixed on him.

"The air is cold, I'll give you my coat" Derek threw a bait which Li Mei swiftly caught on to. With no other choice, he gave her his coat and Li Mei became the one telling him they should hurry up.

"We should have killed this beast and returned by now, but I have to teach you so… we are going to spend longer"
