The Confrontation

Lady Clara arrived early and rather chirpy for her meeting with Queen Elesha she was humming her favourite tune and stirring her cup of tea. Queen Elesha entered the drawing room and closed the door behind her, ensuring there was a guard stationed just outside. She took her seat at the table and greeted her guest with civility. Lady Clara rose from her chair and curtseyed before her with a friendly smile on her face.

"Please take your seat," ordered Queen Elesha.

"I don't wish to waste time beating about the bush, thank you for coming here today at my request."

"Of course, Your Majesty, it is an honour," replied Lady Clara sincerely.

"Lady Clara it has come to my notice unfortunately that we have reason to suspect you were involved in the burning down of the Village of Dahlia, five years ago."

At that pointed accusation, all colour seemed to drain from Lady Clara's countenance.
