Desperate

I had to take my time to reflect on the issue at hand, the last time I checked, Dav and I had planned to go live in the castle and nothing more but the dress before me made it seem like we were going for an exclusive gala.

Realizing that I had wasted much time fantasizing over the dress, I quickly wore it and just like the last time, it fitted like a glove.

Sigh, I knew that the instant I stepped my feet out of the closet, Dav would surely walk up to me to tell me how good the dress was on me but my expectation came dashing to chunks when I saw him whispering something to another presence in the room; a maid.

" Good day ma'am." The maid greeted me when she noticed my presence but there was no response from me as Dav had snared me with his gaze.

Maybe it was not only the Night Fangs that had the ability to trap others with their gaze, maybe it was an ability owned by all vamps or was I just exaggerating?

Dav removed his gaze from my face as he traveled down my body while a mischievous smirk formed on his face.

As predicted, he stood up from the bed the next minute and walked right in front of me but this time, he didn't say anything other than to retain that smile on his face. Wordless, he held me by the hand and led me to the human-size mirror that was hung in the right side corner of the room.

The moment I took a glimpse of myself through the mirror, I let out a faint sigh. I was sure that the blue dress looked so good on me but didn't know that it was to that extent. Though it stopped right above my knees, it was way better than the one I used for my wedding.

The collar, which was decorated with diamonds which I was yet to know whether they were real or fake was a perfect match for my skin tone, and the beautiful flower designs on every part of the dress.

That was a real definition of the saying ' simple but classy.'

" Henceforth, this is how you will be dressed." He leaned in closer to my ear and whispered.

That explained the classy outfits but that was not enough, all I needed was for the vampires to like me as one of their own, a dress couldn't possibly do that.

" Does my wife like what she sees?" He asked while he positioned his nose on my hair and harshly inhaled his breath. All these happened in the presence of the maid who had tried to pretend nothing was going on but who was she kidding? As long she had ears to hear whatever word Dav would blurt out, it was good as seeing.

" Get me the jewelry." He said for the maid to walk over to us with a box in her hand. Wordless, Dav opened the box while it was still in the maid's hands and brought out the most precious thing I had ever seen.

"....and this is for my wife." He said and in the next minute, he hooked a gold necklace around my neck.

How would I have told him that that was the first time I had ever hung anything around my neck or he was the only person that had ever treated me so nicely? Without my knowledge, a drop of tears started dripping from my eyes and that was when he ordered the maid to leave the room.

Without wasting any more seconds, Dav turned me around to face him.

" Wife, what's wrong, don't you like it, I can get y–"

" No Dav, I love it, it's just t..that…. why are you so nice to me? Even on the first day we met, you were so nice to me."

I stared at him in anticipation of his answer but there was none, instead, his face folded even more. In the next second, he drew me to his embrace, thereby making my face come in contact with his hard chest.

" You know, as a princess, you shouldn't cry over little things like this, or else you would be a pushover whenever I'm not around." He warmly said.

He was right, it was normal for a husband to be nice to his wife; I shouldn't be so emotional about something so petty.

" Let's leave, I got a message that father is waiting." With a smile brought back to my face, I happily followed him to the living room where I could see Ray, who had pretended not to notice my presence but would occasionally steal glances at me, Leo, who didn't bother to hide how pleased he was to see me and Beatrice, whose eyes were filled with anger and jealousy as she stared at the dress Dav had got for me.

" It's time, let's go."

At first, I'd thought I was the one those words were directed to but when I saw Ray and Leo stand on their feet, I subconsciously widened my eyes.

Understanding the reason for my stare, Dav chose to clear the air.

" They are also coming to leave at the castle, they would serve as your guards." Dav blurted out but from the way he had said it, it seemed that he wasn't so happy that Ray and Leo would always be with me even when he was not around.

I turned over my gaze at the two vamps, Leo excitedly waved his hands while Ray gave me some kind of evil smirk. Good lord, if it had turned out to be only Leo that would be by my side, I would be okay with it but having Ray with me, gave me the creeps.

Out of everyone's expectations, Beatrice got up from her seat and walked up to us, Dav to be precise.

" Dav, you can't leave me here all alone, I will die of loneliness." She cried out but Dav was quick to push her away. Wordless, his grip on my hand hardened as he led me out of the house.

" Fuck you, Eliza, I'll get my prince back." And those were the words I heard immediately as my feet stepped out of the house.
