The Activation

Well, she was the least of my problems, what bothered me at that moment was the vampires' love or hate towards me.

That thought just couldn't get off my mind, knowing that my instinct has never failed me, I knew that the vampires would show me nothing less than hate, just like the last time I was at the castle but this time, it was a little bit worse as I would have to consider the castle as my new home.

Good lord….

" Wife, can't you hear me? I said you should enter the car." Dav said to jolt me out of my thoughts. If there was anything worse than embarrassment, then that was what I felt at that moment as I could see Ray, Leo, and Dav staring at me with amusement.

Well, unlike me, they had nothing to be scared of, since the castle was their safe haven, and would probably be treated as royalty but how many of the vamps saw me as royalty?

To them, I was the fortunate human female that got married to their crown prince and would soon be replaced by another human female after my death.

How can my life get any more complicated?

" Are you still thinking of the vampires?" Dav asked the most obvious question.

I turned my gaze back to both Ray and Leo who seemed to have anticipated my answer.

" She should be scared, prince, that place is a tough place, especially for humans."

If I hadn't met him earlier, I would have been surprised that Ray would actually blurt out those heart-aching words. What I needed at that moment was for someone to ease my tension even if it meant lying but I guess, Ray had his plans.

The smirk on his face defined it all. There he was, the vamp that Dav had placed his trust in to take care of me, that's if he doesn't harm me before the vampires can.

Well, I still got Leo, he would be there to balance Ray's toxicity.

" That's enough Ray." Dav blazed at Ray but the fear had been imposed.

Wordless, Dav led me to the passenger seat. I was surprised to see that Dav would be the one to drive while his friends relaxed in the back seat. What kind of prince is this?

As usual, the ride was silent while Dav would once in a while, place his free hand on my thigh and gently press on it but I was so busy staring at Ray through the rear mirror that I didn't even notice Dav's actions. This time, Ray didn't bother to hide the fact that he was staring at me as he retained his gaze when our eyes met.

Creepy would be an understatement if I was describing how I saw him. It felt like he had tried to pass across a message that he just couldn't voice out and I hated that I couldn't understand him.

" Ray, can you stop looking at my wife?" Again, Dav snapped me out of my daze.

" I think that question should be directed to the princess, why can't she stop staring at me?" That annoying smirk was back on his face.

His words made Dav flash me a questioning look before turning his gaze back to the road and I didn't fail to notice that his grip on the steering wheel had become firmer.

" Prince, I think the princess is interested in me."

What the heck did he just say? No way. If Ray had turned out to be the only male that existed, I'd rather die of loneliness than be with a freak. As expected, those words really hit Dav that he had to stop the car at the roadside. Surely, he was pissed off by Ray's words and those scars didn't do justice to his frown.

Wordless, Dav got out of the car. I'd thought he had done that to ease his anger but when I heard the back door open, my eyes immediately widened at what I saw. There, Dav held on to Ray's collar as he dragged him out of the car but to my amazement, Ray didn't show any sign of fear.

Not having a full view of what was going on, I also got out of the car only to see Ray's body pressed against the car while Dav gave him a series of hard punches.

" Dav!" I exclaimed.

When he heard me call out his name, he paused his onslaught while his fist was left hanging in the air as he gave off a series of heavy breaths. Good lord, who did I get married to?

I had a lot of questions going on in my mind. From what I saw, his scars seemed to have renewed and I was very certain that Ray didn't lay a finger on him. I turned my gaze to Ray, whose face was almost covered with his blood.

" Why would you do that, Dav? Do you wish him dead?" I asked and without thinking twice, I rushed up to Ray. I bet that no human would be able to survive what my eyes had witnessed.

In the next second, I gathered all the strength in me and tore a little part of the dress Dav had bought for me, and without care of what Dav would do or say, I started wiping off Ray's face. Hell, the aura that followed suit wasn't a nice one and it came from no one other person but Dav.

" Are you trying to piss me off, don't tell me that you feel sorry for him?" Dav asked but I ignored him while I continued cleaning Ray's face.

I felt Dav walk up to me and before I could phantom what was going on, Dav aggressively held my hand and dragged me out of the car but not without telling me that he was the only one that deserved to get such treatment from me and no one else.

In the next second, both Dav and Ray entered the car and again, to my amazement, Ray had a smile on his face.

" You should know that Ray is not a weak male, he will heal soon," Dav said with gnashed teeth and without waiting any more time, he continued with the silent journey.
