Inside his inventory, there were two boxes there that looked exactly like the gift box he had received earlier. Without wasting time, Ezra took one out to open. He was a bit curious why he had received it, but since he did not have the answer to the question, he could only accept the kindness from the system.

[Quest Rewards]
You may choose from one of the rewards below.
1. Status Recovery
2. +3 free stat points
3. +1 Skill point
..
Nothing out of the ordinary as Ezra saw, it, so he forgot about it, though the extra stat points were nice, so he choose that. On to the second one.
..
[Quest Rewards]
You may choose from one of the rewards below.
1. Skill Scroll x1
2. Increase all stats by 1
3. +3 Skill point
..
This one was more tempting than the last, there were simply all good choices, but of course, skills do not come by so fast, so he chose the first option and left the rest. He would be a fool not to choose that the way he saw it.
For the free stat points, Ezra invested all in strength, it was the major priority in the kind of situation he found himself in currently where he had to constantly fight. Not to mention, the monsters were getting stronger and stronger the farther in he went.
"For this, I wonder what skill this contains?" Ezra said to himself.
He took the scroll from his inventory, and as he held it I his hand, its decription appeared before his eyes to see.
..
[Skill Scroll]
This is an old scroll that contains a particular skill in it. You will gain the stored skill after ripping it.
..
The description was short and to the point. Ezra followed what was written and did just that, tear it.
[You have acquired a new skill, Recovery]
Seeing the notification, Ezra touched the name written on it, Recovery, to see it's description.
..
[Recovery]
You will gradually recover from most status effects up to a certain extent. Injuries and mana will also recover slightly faster, but effect is not much.
Type: Active
Level: 1
Mana cost: 50
Progress: 0%
..
Looking at the skill, it was pretty good, but then Ezra thought..
'Spending 50 mana to recover mana slightly… What sort of effect is this?'
"Can I sacrifice that effect and trade it in to increase the healing effect?" He said to himself, though, he knew it was impossible.
It wasn't all bad though, and the skill was only at level one, so it would naturally become stronger in the future, and would come in very handy. After all, it was pretty much like having a healer in your hands. No matter how strong hunters become, they would never refute the assistance of a healer during raids on dungeons.
"Alright, that's enough, I should move ahead." Said Ezra. He was feeling more confident now.
Ezra forged ahead with his dagger in hand, he was going to test it out first. He didn't have much hope on it, as he was sure it could break anytime. The name of the wolves had become green, but then they were quickly replaced by stronger monsters. He hadn't seen anyone with a red name, so he was doing good staying as strong as he was at the moment, maintaining the strength gap. If he had to choose, he would take the green ones, but as it functioned as a game, he was sure that would generate no exp, and he really wanted to level up quickly.
'Besides, very soon getting stronger will become harder, as the EXP required will continue to increase.' He thought to himself.
Although Ezra wasn't sure, he had a hunch that this place was either created by the system, or it was monitored by it. So it was a good place to grind as he needed not to go find powerful monsters, they came right straight to him themselves. He also had the thought that the system would not let him die, but after recalling the incident after he failed to complete his first daily quest, he let go of such comforting thoughts and faced reality. NOTHING WAS GIVEN FOR FREE. He could only use the system to grow as strong as he could, and would wait.
.
.
After only a short while of walking forward, he encountered a monster, a beast type, just like all the others. Using his dagger, Ezra charged at it also, as it lounged at him. It's body was almost as big as he's, and it had the features of a wolf, but was not quite one. It's eyes were red, much like most of the monsters here, but the fur allover its head was red, and same for all its limbs, and the same fur covered its under section.
Maybe it was because he had been fighting the beasts barehanded, but Ezra had developed a pretty savage style of fighting.
He waited for the beast and dodged at the right moment just when it was about to reach him. Though animals on all fours were savages and had a strange pattern of movement that allowed them unnatural maneuverability, Ezra was already accustomed to it. He stood his ground and waited for the beast to get close and swing its front hand at him, then he avoided its attack at the last moment by ducking and moving to the side a bit, then he twisted his body quickly to strike at the side of the beast's head, close to the ear.
*Clangggg
Ezra looked immediately, as the cheap dagger he had little faith in snapped at the first opportunity it had.
'FUCK! WHAT CHEAP QUALITY!' He cursed in his mind.
