=Breaking News – An unknown man has been said to have come out of a dungeon this afternoon in **** after the gate had been dealt with. The witnesses say that this young man was not part of the hunting group and they have no idea how he made his way in undetected.=
Listening to the news, Ezra was thrown off a bit. It was indeed the same situation. He quickly calmed down, and analyzed the situation.
'If I'm not wrong, it was only seven or nine days ago I heard in the news that there was an incident in a gate.' He thought to himself.
=Unfortunately, there is no CCTV camera around that area, so the case cannot, be thoroughly investigated.= The news lady continued. But after that, Ezra didn't pay much attention anymore. He knew what had happened, and was on alert as in the end, the second person was a bit of an idiot.
Ezra feared that the case might have been likened to his, but after some more thought, he scratched that off, at least for the time being.
"With how reckless this guy is being; he's bound to get in the spotlight sooner or later."
Eventually, his identity will get debunked, there was only so much a fake ID could do. When that happens…
'I need to get ready and get stronger fast.'
. .
After that incident, the internet exploded with people not even in the country talking about the matter.
With that, Ezra focused on finding a way to access gates all by himself. In the Gangdam Guild, Ezra was being put into lessons and all sorts of different things. After the two raids he took part in, he was also restricted from taking part in any other one until he had learnt all the basic knowledge, something he unfortunately did not learn after all these years.
Last time, he was lucky and both gates were cleared in one day. The other raids he completed with his new team didn't count, though, as those were D rank gates.
Though the size of a gate was not attributed to its rank, lower ranked gates were generally smaller and easier to clear. From C rank and beyond, the size of the inner environment of a gate could get up to the space of a small town. In such cases, it would take long to find the boss monsters, and even longer to clear all the monsters and complete the raid.
Of course, the hunters were the ones that would deal with finding their way around such dungeons, which meant they had to learn how to draw and read maps to be able to navigate efficiently and effectively. This was not everybody's job, but everyone had a basic knowledge.
This was just one of the lessons that Ezra had to face. To say the least, it was boring and tiring. Now he really wanted to leave the guild.
'Good thing I'm not really an official member in the records.'
After some days of taking lessons and proving that he was ready, Ezra was free to raid once more. He found out that the Intelligence stat also helped a bit in his actual intelligence.
In this short period of time, Ezra did some research and got some leads about a guy that could help him. In the meanwhile, he would have to do some more raids with his team, after that they were supposed to be free and he could now do his own thing.
These raids were simple enough, but Ezra noticed that two people from his team were having a kind of attitude with him. One of them happened to be the leader, Jax, and the other was Astro, as everyone referred to him. It wasn't anything significant though, and Ezra couldn't care more for it.
That week they had two raids in three days, both relatively short raids that didn't take time, after all those were D rank gates. Their team had decided it was a good idea to take on the easier raids before the difficult ones as a way to challenge themselves. Ezra thought it was a dumb decision.
The third day after they were done with the raid, and since they finished around night time, somewhere between eight and nine O'clock, everyone went through the usual process and after the reports, they all went their separate ways.
Since it was rare for D rank and lower dungeons to condense mana crystals, the mining teams, if present, would go in after the dungeon boss was defeated and mine the crystals, if any, within the one hour time frame before the gate closes. This time, there were no mana crystals.
On his way home, Ezra remembered that he had nothing prepared for dinner, and he wouldn't have time to make himself one, so he just branched at a corner store to get something light like bread or similar.
"How much is this?" Ezra asked, pointing at a fat loaf of bread.
"That one's 500 Khats. This one over here is 350." The lady selling said. Ezra looked at the two choices for a short while, and decided to take the one for 500, so that he could have that the next morning as breakfast.
After buying that, he continued on his way home. Normally he would just run home while doing some parkour, but he was thinking about some things on that day.
'It's crazy how much money I've made in such a short time.' Ezra thought to himself.
It was true that he had made a lot, after all, after the last raid he took part in, not including the one he was just coming back from, he had made more than a million Khat.
'Well, maybe because I'm in a poor country, in the grand scale of things, this isn't even that much.'
.
(A/N: A million Khat is worth around 2,800 to 2,900 dollars.)
