System Mission II

After they emerged from the dungeon, everyone followed Ezra's story and nothing much except for the fact that the guild had lost some hunters was the case.

Since these accidents happen often during raids, there was never any need for an investigation or anything of the sorts. Once a few questions were asked, that was all.

This time, the guild arranged for the hunters that ad exited the gate to be taken to the hospital. Apart from their physical state, their mental status was also important. It wouldn't be strange for someone to develop some form of mental illness after having to work such a job. Even the military have such cases, and they don't even have to kill hideous monsters.

Ezra had also allowed himself to be taken to the hospital for check and treatment of possible injuries. He did have some light superficial injuries like scratches and such, so he just got a quick work done on him and was allowed to leave. The rest however, remained at the hospital.

'That wasn't bad.' He thought to himself.

From there, Ezra went back home without stopping in any other place.

After arriving home, the first thing he did was take a can of soft drink out of his refrigerator and sit on a chair, before taking out the skill scroll.

The way it was used was by ripping it, so Ezra took a sip of his drink before ripping the scroll.

As he did that, the scroll shone with a bright golden coloured ray of light, and slowly, the light disappeared and entered into his body from all directions.

[New Skill Acquired, Intimidation]

"Oh?"

'Show me it's details.' Ezra said in his head, and the system showed him information on the skill.'

It wasn't too complicated of a skill. It incited fear in lower ranked monsters, enough that they wouldn't want to attack you, and can even cause hallucination. Those of similar rank would will slightly feel intimidated and would most likely not want to attack, and those of higher rank would feel a bit threatened.

I certainly wasn't bad. 'Maybe if I had gotten it before we exited the dungeon, I would have used it on those people. Doesn't matter though.'

Ezra quickly fell asleep shortly after. It was already late.

The next day, Ezra showed up at the guild, and was surprised to see some faces from the raid yesterday.

'Weren't they supposed to be injured?'

He even jammed eyes with the one who had vomited, but something was off.

'Why is he behaving guilty? Don't tell me he leaked information on what happened///' Ezra thought to himself, as it was very possible. After all, he did show weak character.

"Ezra, the guild leader is calling for you." June came up to Ezra and said, shortly after.

'Hmm, did he figure it out? Her tone was a bit off.' At this point, Ezra had already joined one and two together.

'No wonder that fucker looked guilty of something.'

.

-"Guild Leader, you called for me?" Ezra said, after entering the office.

"Yes. Sit." The guild leader said, also not in a particularly happy tone as usual.

"Look, I don't know what exactly was going on, but you shouldn't have done what you did." The leader said, right to his point.

-"I was ratted out, huh?"

"Not exactly, but it wasn't hard to guess, given the way the others responded."

.

.

-"I see. Am I getting sanctioned or something?"

"No, not really, but you all will be getting a mandatory live for some time. The media loves their stories, so I want you all to stay low for the time being, especially you. Those three you killed belonged to a particular organization. Even though they are not really important, you have entered their books. Be careful."

-"Thank you."

"Heh.. Don't thank me. This kind of thing should never repeat itself again. Next time I won't be letting it go so easily. After all, this is my guild you are striking."

.

.

After that, the rest were called and the live was announced. Really, it was only in small countries like this that hunters were treated as workers to some degree.

They all left work early, and Ezra returned home.

The remaining of that day, he used to purchase some daily necessities and other things like food water and the rest.

Earlier, he had discovered the existence of a particular person. He had been planning to go look for this person, he was readying to leave that very night.

If he was truly to stick to raiding dungeons like he was at the moment, Ezra was afraid his strength would advance too slowly, if it even does.

'I need a better way. That's why this guy is important.' Since there was only one way to find out, that was what Ezra was going to do.

With all he wanted set, he left his home at the dead of night and ventured off to targeted places. Places he had specially marked.

'The best thing would be to interrogate some thugs around or such people.' Ezra thought to himself. He had no information on who he was looking for, but at the very least, he was aware of their existence.

Sometime later, Ezra was walking in a different neighborhood far from where he lived, but still in the same city. It wasn't long before he ran into an interesting situation.

"Help! Help! SOMEBOD…"

Tud

A body dropped to the ground, and the female voice screaming for help ceased.

'These things are common around these kinds of places, huh? Youths really shouldn't be drinking alcohol.'
