Set the stage first(1)

After saying goodbye to Oliver Ford, Jane went to City Hospital to collect her blood test results. The results confirmed that she was indeed pregnant.

She sat in her car, staring at the report for a long time before finally calming down and driving to St. Mary's Hospital.

She wondered if John would be angry with her for taking so long. As she tried to figure out how to handle the situation, she arrived at John's hospital room to find it empty. The attached suite and bathroom were also vacant. Could he have been discharged so quickly, considering the amount of blood he had lost?

As she pondered this, the cleaning lady entered the room. When she saw Jane, she hesitated for a moment before informing her that the patient had been discharged.

Jane found her tone strange and asked, "So soon? How is that possible?"

The cleaning lady shrugged. "I don't know, but I heard that the man who stayed in this room is very powerful. They say he can buy the entire hospital with just a few words. I also heard that the hospital director has been replaced."

Jane chuckled. "Who replaced him?"

The cleaning lady replied mysteriously, "I heard it's a young man named Cooper. He's talented and good-looking. The nurses in the hospital are crazy about him. They say he's handsome, and so is the hospital director."

Jane nodded in agreement. John's face was certainly mesmerizing, and Mark Cooper wasn't too bad either.

After chatting with the cleaning lady for a few more minutes, Jane left. John had been discharged, which meant she might not have to work as a nurse anymore, right?

As she pondered this, she received a text message from Mark Cooper with a total cost of $683,800. She was taken aback by the amount and checked her bank account balance. With gritted teeth, she transferred the money to Mark Cooper, who didn't even bother to say thank you. These three men were like robbers.

As she walked out while holding her phone, Jane didn't expect to run into Charlotte again. Charlotte saw her and immediately blocked her way, "Miss Jane, Mr. John instructed me to perform an abortion for you."

Jane was put off by the other party's harsh tone, her face showing displeasure. "Okay, but I'm busy with work recently. I'll come find you after I finish this period."

After speaking, she prepared to enter the elevator, but Charlotte grabbed her arm. "Miss Jane, please remember not to exceed 70 days. The earlier you have the abortion, the faster your body will recover. Otherwise, you will suffer."

Jane was even more repulsed, "Dr. Garcia cares so much about me, one might think I'm your daughter."

Dr. Garcia froze for a moment, "I... I'm just doing as I was instructed."

Jane sneered, "Doctors are supposed to be compassionate, but Dr. Garcia is only concerned about his boss's orders and not the patient's feelings. Isn't that violating professional ethics?"

Charlotte froze again, and Jane took the opportunity to shake her off and walked straight into the elevator.

As the elevator door closed, her brow furrowed. Was John so impatient to have her undergo an abortion?

With a heavy heart, she returned home early to see Jack, but everyone was there. Franklin Garcia and Elizabeth sat on the couch, while Alice Garcia and... Carl Edwards, whom she hadn't seen in a long time, sat opposite them!

Summer and Jack were also nearby.

The faces of Franklin Garcia and Elizabeth didn't look too good. When they saw her return, Elizabeth, who rarely stood up to greet anyone, got up and greeted her with a slight smile, "Jane, you're back."

Jane was taken aback by the sudden concern and tenderness. She rubbed her arms and smiled at them, "What are you doing here?"

She looked as if she was on guard.

Franklin Garcia took a deep breath, his eyes trembling slightly, "Jane, you have such a serious illness, why didn't you tell us?"

Jane's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately looked at Carl Edwards, who seemed to shift uncomfortably, "Miss, you are already seriously ill, and I'm just looking out for you."
