The real culprit of child abduction(1)

Natalie Mitchel did not scold Nicholas Turner for talking nonsense, but instead asked, "How do you know?" She inadvertently admitted to stealing a child.

Nicholas Turner waved his thick arms and looked arrogant. "Don't worry about how I know. I'm asking for money now. If you don't give it to me, I'll expose this to your hospital and even let Samuel Turner know. You'll be ruined."

Natalie Mitchel took a few steps back and fell onto the sofa behind her. She was a rare female medical student in their time, working as the head of obstetrics and gynecology at the renowned St. Mary's Hospital in S City. Her future was bright, but she ended up with a gambling-addicted husband.

She sold the house they mortgaged in S City to pay off his debts. Her salary was also taken by him. To make matters worse, he borrowed money at high interest rates outside, and she and Samuel Turner were harassed by debt collectors in the middle of the night, making them unable to sleep all night. Meanwhile, he lived carefree outside.

If it weren't for his neglect, and if it weren't for her son's future, she wouldn't have taken such a risk.

After returning to A City, they finally divorced, but he still pestered her for money all these years.

"I don't have any money," she said.

Nicholas Turner was so angry that he stepped forward and slapped Natalie Mitchel several times. "Stop pretending. Didn't you steal Jane's twin sons? You even took in a bastard child to cover it up. No one steals a child for no reason, especially one with such a background. You must have gotten a lot of benefits from it. I don't want much, just give me 500,000 yuan."

Natalie Mitchel was dizzy from the beating and fell onto the sofa. She glared at Nicholas Turner with hatred and said, "I don't know what you're talking about, but I don't have any money."

Nicholas Turner narrowed his thick eyebrows, and then straddled Natalie Mitchel, punching and kicking her while spewing foul language. Natalie Mitchel couldn't bear the pain and started begging for mercy while crying, "Nicholas Turner, let me go. I'll give you the money."

Nicholas Turner immediately let go of Natalie Mitchel's hand, his murky eyes staring at her, "When will you give it?"

Natalie Mitchel frowned, "My salary isn't that high right now, I can't come up with fifty thousand so quickly. Can you wait a bit longer?"

Nicholas Turner was deep in gambling debt and couldn't afford to wait, "Didn't you sell the son of a celebrity? Go to the buyer and demand the money, or contact the celebrity and have her pay for the child. These are all ways to make money."

He had learned this money-making method from his new acquaintance.

Natalie Mitchel's expression turned unpleasant, "Don't worry about it, I'll get you the money anyway."

Nicholas Turner became impatient, but he was confident that he would get the money, so he left triumphantly.

After he left, the room fell silent. About five minutes later, Natalie Mitchel dialed a number. When the call was answered, she immediately spoke, "Please tell the boss that I need fifty thousand dollars. I promise this will be the last time, I won't come to the boss again."

A coarse and unpleasant voice came from the other end, "You said it was the last time last time, and now you're asking for money again. The boss is angry."

"I...I have no choice, Jane came to me..." Natalie Mitchel spoke tremblingly, waiting for a response, but the only sound that came through was a dial tone. The call had been hung up.

She tried calling again, but couldn't get through. She kept trying, but the result was always the same: the call couldn't be connected.

She realized that she might not be able to get money from the "boss" and her face turned ashen.

At the same time, in a hotel suite.

Jane tightly bit her finger, suppressing the tremble throughout her body.

Listening to Natalie Mitchel and Nicholas Turner's conversation, their attitude towards kidnapping the child was surprisingly consistent as if it were a business transaction to make money. In their eyes, her son was a valuable commodity rather than a little baby forced to leave his mother, and they had no consideration for a mother's feelings or the harm done to a family.
