"She naturally persuaded with a soft and charming voice," John pressed out the cigarette and turned on the room's ventilation system before opening the window. Vivian West smiled happily, her eyes narrowed in delight. "It's time to leave, John," she said.
John was taken aback. Mark Cooper had left three hours before the end of the workday, so had he really been lost in thought for that long?
Vivian West came over and spoke softly, "Cooper said he's arranged a welcoming dinner for me. Shall we go together?"
John snapped out of his daze and nodded indifferently, "Okay."
The two arrived at Buffet seafood. Vivian West loved seafood, and Mark Cooper had specifically picked this restaurant. When they arrived, the others were already seated and chatting amiably.
John looked around and saw that some of S City's notable second-generation elites had been invited by Mark Cooper. He cared more about Vivian West's matters than even Cooper.
Vivian West gracefully greeted everyone one by one, and Mark Cooper introduced her to the others.
When it was all done, Mark Cooper smiled at Vivian West and said, "If you want to be with John, you have to fit into his circle. These are the most familiar and elite people in his circle."
Vivian West smiled politely, "Thank you, Cooper."
After three rounds of drinking, a low and teasing voice suddenly asked John, "Is John getting married again?"
The speaker emphasized the words "getting married again," which made the previously pleasant atmosphere suddenly awkward.
After all, Vivian West was a prominent figure in the West family, and she was still a young lady, yet she was interested in a divorced man with a child.
Before Vivian West could react, Mark Cooper was already angry, "Brandon Chen, you're not saying anything. We all thought you were mute."
Brandon Chen's handsome face showed an innocent expression, "I won't say anything. Let's take a few pictures. We don't often get together like this."
He stood up, picked up his phone, and took photos of everyone. He even took individual photos of Vivian West and John, which he praised after taking them. "Beautiful people are always pleasing to the eye. They don't even need filters or touch-ups. They can be posted directly on social media."
He took pictures of the food as well. The dishes were indeed good, but they were also known to be expensive.
After finishing, he arranged the photos into a 3x3 grid and posted them on his social media page.
Mark Cooper saw Brandon Chen's social media post and sneered, "You're a CEO for heaven's sake, and you're always taking photos and posting them online like a girl."
Brandon Chen chuckled and raised his eyebrows, "At least I love posting photos online. That's better than being someone's pet."
Mark Cooper was good to Vivian West, and everyone could see it. In private, the women who had once looked down on him as a playboy all said he was a certain woman's pet until Vivian West appeared, and then everything became clear.
When Mark Cooper heard Brandon Chen's comment, he subconsciously looked at John. John was looking down at his phone, and he too was scrolling through social media. When he saw that Jane had liked Brandon Chen's post, his handsome face darkened.
Thinking John had misunderstood him, Mark Cooper quickly explained, "Brandon Chen, what's wrong with you? I treat Vivian West like a little sister. Who the hell would gossip behind her back?"
