Are you just saying that out of anger?(1)

Jane blinked her long eyelashes and slowly raised her face to meet John's cold gaze. She curved her lips and smiled lightly, "Thank you for your great kindness, John."

After receiving the IV drip, she miraculously felt much lighter and excitedly ran up the stairs, just because she could. Since being poisoned, her daily condition was like that of a severe cold patient, with a dizzy and weak body, sweating profusely even with little exertion, let alone climbing stairs. But just now, she had a feeling of being as light as a swallow.

She knew that she was approaching a normal state of health.

When she climbed the stairs, she sincerely appreciated John, and even wondered if she should forgive him.

But now, it seems that he did not really want to save her.

"Are you just kidding?" She remembered the bottle of imported medicine that cost over a million dollars. She didn't know how many bottles of drip she had received since she fell asleep in the middle of the night, but looking at Brian's tired expression, she knew that John had put effort into it.

So, she was willing to give him another chance.

"Ha." John sneered and suddenly reached out to pinch her chin, staring at her with his obsidian eyes full of coldness, "Don't you understand? The game of catching the mouse is not over yet. How can you play with a sickly body? This is an insult to me."

In the game, both sides must be evenly matched to make it interesting. One-sided slaughter has no sense of achievement and will reduce the excitement.

Jane stared at John's eyes seriously. His eyes were actually very beautiful, with standard phoenix-shaped eyes, slightly raised at the corners, revealing an alluring charm. He had a high and straight nose, sexy thin lips, and deep and three-dimensional facial features.

This is the man she once loved deeply.

She smiled again, "Thank you anyway." She had thought it would take two years to clear the toxins from her body, but now it had clearly been greatly shortened, all thanks to John.

"John... stay away from women like her in the future," Mrs. Land stood beside them and advised coldly.

John forcefully pushed Jane away and pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket to wipe his hands, then threw it into the trash as if he had touched something dirty.

Jane watched coldly and couldn't help but retort, "It's really difficult for John to save dirty things like me, right?"

After speaking, she turned and went back to her own ward without looking back.

She was still looking forward to more medication. The feeling of lightness and not sweating all over her body during arguments was amazing!

There was indeed more medication, three more bottles. The specialist said that after these three bottles of medication, most of the toxins in her body would be cleared, except for her vocal cords which would not recover, but everything else would slowly return to normal.

If John didn't have ulterior motives, she would definitely thank him profusely with tears of gratitude.

After the last bottle of medication was administered, she couldn't wait to see Jill, but there were bodyguards outside her room who wouldn't let her in.

Through the door, she heard Vivian West's laughter, "Jill is so pretty, even prettier than me."

Then she heard John's voice, but couldn't make out what they were saying, only that it was making Jill laugh and giggle.

She wanted to knock on the door and see what was going on, but the bodyguard held her arm and said, "Miss Jane, Mr. John has instructed that you cannot see Miss Jill."

Jane pursed her lips.

If it was John's instruction, then she wouldn't be able to see her.

She stood at the door for a good ten minutes before leaving with a furrowed brow. She had a gut feeling that Vivian West wasn't as innocent and harmless as she appeared, and if she became Jill's stepmother, would Jill be subjected to abuse?
