Chapter 37 Finding a Gap

Burnt. Burning. The fire makes the water evaporate instantly. I have the five primary elements, but I still can't use all five elements, only the wind and lightning elements that I can currently use. It's like there's a transparent wall that makes it impossible for me to use the five primary elements. But my anger forced the spirit aura within my body to churn endlessly.

Many times the Light Pearl emitted an extraordinary light, and the shot that delivered the arrow was extremely fast. My arrow was simply broken with his sword, but the man didn't move at all, even the attacks received from my member didn't make him retreat in the slightest.

I was alone, in a rage I couldn't stop.

Looking for an opening to counterattack, reminding me there are only five remaining arrows. Not enough to strike back. The flash of blue and gold light almost hit me, I dodged the sword as it flew towards me. The blue sword stuck into the rock.

"It's enough."

"Won't!" I won't stop until my anger is vented.

Strafe the man with the remaining arrow shot, I will not shoot any more arrows.

I don't care.

I just need to beat him with my own hands. However, my punch would never hit him. The shock wave bounced off my body, the impact caused by my body crashing into the trees. I couldn't control my body and ended up falling to the ground. The impact that directly hit the back was very painful.

My friends. I couldn't save them, I couldn't protect Lyra. I can't do anything, I don't deserve to be the leader of Hill Valley. This competition is completely pointless. When we are thrown into the arena of slaughter, none of us will survive. Many of the team participants were the strongest, especially the three most prominent teams.

Yes. I was so desperate, that I didn't realize the game that trapped us all. I only have one arrow left, my chance to get out of this game and save my friends.

My remaining arrow flew beside his face, the man didn't move an inch when I shot right behind him. I didn't shoot a coconut, but a circle of light. The circle of light cracked, the cracks getting bigger and bigger spreading across the island. The sky seemed to be split in two, a huge crack could be seen in the sky.

All of this was just a game, a test that I was completely unaware of, and of course, they were also unaware of the test given by the coaches and judges of 'The Magus Games'. Professor Julian as the coach and judge of 'The Magus Games', representing the Head of Games of 'The Magus Games', took part in the Valley Hill Team exams.

The man in the luxurious blue and gold robe was not surprised at all. I was filled with anger, but I still managed to remain calm. Look for irregularities that occur quickly. I can see that this is all just a test.

"It's finished. Can my friends and I return to our unit?" I said calmly. My appearance was very messy, with wounds all over my body, but I still wore a calm face.

My calm turned to confusion. A smile on his face, the first time I saw him. Professor Julian flashed a friendly smile, different from before.

A man wearing a blue robe with silver stripes standing behind Professor Julian snorted in displeasure. I'm sure that man wearing a blue robe with silver stripes is the current Head of Games. I don't know his name and I don't want to know.

David, Gray, Minerva, Finral, Wendy, and Helen, are fine, and so is Lyra. The girl with braided hair only suffered minor injuries.

Without the slightest loss of respect, we exited this strange room. Just let them look at us like little mice who have no respect. Why should we respect them? I just wanted to laugh and confusion hit me. David and the others, follow me, even their impolite actions are almost the same as mine.

Very funny. We were never close academically, not even friends. There are endless arguments. We left the room without thanking or respecting them in the slightest, besides, they almost made my friends die and fortunately, I quickly realized what was wrong.

Klaus, the Head of Academics, bombarded his favorite student with questions and hugs. Who else if not David, who is his favorite? Sheilla, this unique woman, was furious, her face was very scary. We openly insulted the game judges.

Yes, we insult Calista and Horace's people, they are the same. Professor Lupine didn't say anything, his silence made me feel guilty because lately, I've always denied his advice.

"You should go back to your room and rest. At dinner tonight, your test scores will be announced."

There was no objection, what's more, we were very tired all day.

I still can't rest in peace, seeing Lyra complaining of pain in her left wrist.

The girl with braids kept whining, crying, and screaming. Luckily each room was designed to soundproof, so Lyra's screams didn't disturb the others. The girl uttered swear words, in contrast to her cute face, completely inappropriate.

I could only shake my head, seeing Lyra acting like a child, her screaming didn't stop at all. Seeing her cute behavior makes me miss my little sister. Gisella always whines when she wants something, sometimes Gisella and I always fight, and Mother scolds us.

I'm not Mother and Gisella who can heal minor wounds, but as long as I study in the Healing Training Block. I can understand a little about basic healing methods, and how to fix displaced bones, with just one pull. The sound of bones shaking. It all ended with Lyra's final scream.

"Already."

"Morgan! You almost broke my arm." The girl's scream rose an octave, but I let it go for now. Lyra no longer screamed, the girl was excited after her left wrist felt no pain. I tried to hold back my laughter, Lyra's behavior was very funny.

"I brought something."

I handed him a box containing strawberry jam bread. The girl's eyes lit up and shyly took the strawberry jam bread I brought. Lyra was very hungry, her mouth was full of bread.

"What is it?"

The girl's face looked red. Suddenly Lyra asked me to come out, leaving her to rest in the room. Sometimes, I wonder about that girl. Lyra appears to have a cute and shy face but shows an attitude that is the opposite of her face. Maybe Lyra needs rest, I was the same, feeling pain all over my body.

I want to immediately go to my room, and soak in the hot water that relaxes my body. It was as if someone knew that I needed hot water and the equipment had been provided. The servants who have provided for my needs while living here.

Remember when Professor Lupine said that these servants were Mute, they were rebels who had their tongues cut off as a form of punishment.

Taking off my clothes, my body submerged completely in the tub filled with hot water, leaving only my head exposed and I let my hair down. I want to enjoy a moment of calm that I can get in Calista, by closing my eyes. Imagining the servants were the Silent Ones. They rebelled because of what? What rebellion had they committed, that Andalus and Horaces punished them?

Andalus and Horaces were always at odds, resulting in war in the past. Dark times in the past, a history that will never be forgotten in a lifetime. Broadcasting every August 15th in the square, we are like children who must be taught history, showing the dark history of the past. So many magus soldiers sacrificed themselves, defending their homeland, at the cost of their lives and to create a bright future.

But, all of that is lies and lies. The magus soldiers who had become heroes died in vain. Our future is dark and terrible, there is no justice and discrimination everywhere. There is no such thing as a bright future, everything is a lie. Calista's people are very good at lying and taking advantage of the luxuries they have, leaving each district to have to try to survive.

It's time for dinner, soon the team assessments will be announced. In the living room, they looked very tense, there was not the slightest sound, and what's more, no one dared to start a commotion. Usually, Finral would flirt with female servants, but he was as silent as a statue. David and Lyra, who usually started their fight by fighting, saw that this time they seemed to be getting along.

David and Lyra said that when I disappeared, the seven of them were very panicked looking for me who just disappeared. Even though the team participant exams are about to begin. They had to fight with several guard magus and ended up fighting Professor Julian. Nobody knew what happened, they were unconscious.

Until I realized one thing. Professor Julian gives a different test to the Hill Valley Team. We fought hard against him, it was all just a test, and afterward, to the point that the Head of Academics and Professor Lupine were speechless, Sheilla looked furious. We showed disrespect to the jury.

The dishes on the table did not arouse our appetite, even until we finished eating and we gathered in the living room, watching the broadcast which would soon start on the large hologram screen.
