Chapter Thirty The Blue Eagle

"Get out of my way!!"

An armed thug roared as he struggled to get past through the clustering crowd. He waved his gun frantically while shoving people off and running through the streets. It was a gloomy night and the weather was chilly, his breathing was getting heavier by the minute but he couldn't stop running. The horror he'd just witnessed wouldn't let him. Whatever was after him was definitely not human.

He stumbled and the fell to the ground as his unzipped bag slipped from his hand and dropped to the floor. Money spurted out of the bag and littered the cold floor. As he quickly crawled over, picked up his bag and hurriedly started stashing the scattered money.

Suddenly he heard a silent noise in the air and quickly tilted his head as he fearfully surveyed the sky. Then he sighted a winged humanoid figured. It was him. The creature of the night.

He crawled back in fear as the winged figure gradually descended from the sky.

As it gradually landed gracefully to the ground and it's cybernetic metal silver wings swifty retracted into it's back. Slowly it approached the frightened robber and with each step it took, the man trembled fearfully as he swore and cursed.

"Stay away from me you freak!." He panicked.

His hands were trembling as he pointed his gun to the approaching figure.

"Com'on man, do I need to remind you that that won't work on me."

"Stay the fuck away freak!!" The man roared hysterically once more.

But the unknown hero adamantly continued to approach him. His palms became sweaty and heavy, as he tightened his grip on the gun, and gulped down hard, then pulled the trigger. He fired multiple times at the strange person. But as the bullets flew straight to their target, it all ended up crashing against it's tainted black and bluish steel armor. The hero wasn't fazed, nor moved by the attack, rather it continued to approach it's victim whom was clumsily trying to reload his gun.

Their wasn't a single scratch on it's futuristic armor because of it's advanced mechanism. With each step it took, it's advanced metallic high silver boots produced a clanking sound that sent more terror into it's victim's heart. It almost also proved impossible for no man to miss it's detailed futuristic black and bluish helmet.

It was shaped in the ideal of a terrifying eagle, with a perfect round black shaded goggles attached to it, which was quite similar to that of Iron klaw. On reaching close, it immediately grabbed the armed robber by the wrist and yanked the gun off his hand. The robber tried to fight back, but was quickly silenced with a devastating blow to the head. As he's vision instantly turned dark and he fell forcefully to the ground. Tomorrow would be a bright day, though he'd only be able to witness it behind bars.

It was a bright tuesday morning, everywhere seemed calm and peaceful. The beeping of the alarm clock woke Billy up, as he stretched his arms and lazily got up from his bed. The last few weeks had been the craziest, he had been flying round in his dad's unfinished suit which he managed to remodel. But acting like a vigilante was never his first idea.

He recalled feeling very strong and powerful after his exposure to the weird chemical gas, even his physical appearance had improved.

He taunted and flexed his biceps as he looked at himself in the mirror, impressed with his new looks.

«I can never get tired of this.»

"Hurry Billy!, We're gonna be late for school!" Shouted Amy from the sitting room.

"Am almost done. Just gimme a few more minutes!" He quickly retorted.

"Better be quick or Olivia and I will be forced to go without you!."

He's eyes gleamed with sheer shock, as his heart began to pump so fast that he feared it would burst out of his chest. It had been a long time since he last talked to her. He could not bring himself to face her, not after what happened. But it seemed his time of cowering in the shadows was over, as he's problems had eventually caught up with him.

Olivia was twisting her hands nervously as she waited for him. Her father had grounded her from seeing him after the awful incident.

He started becoming obsessively protective towards her, so much so that it became very difficult for her to spend some real time with her friends.

"Com'on Olivia let's go, I doubt Billy would be done dressing up even if we let him have the whole of today." Amy said as she turned to leave, expecting her friend to accompany her.

Instead she remained on the soft sofa, with her head facing down. She was oddly quiet, and that aroused a feeling of uneasiness in Amy's little mind.

"Olivia are you alright?" She asked worriedly.

"Am fine. Just go on without me, I'll catch up with you later."

She stared at her confusedly for some brief moments. "Alright. if that's what you want, I'll see you in school then."

But she only nodded meekly without sparing her a glance. Looking up the ceiling, towards hew room, she shouted.

"Billy ya free to spend the entire day gettin' ready for school, cos am done waiting!."

She returned her gaze to her friend and gently nodded before leaving the house and closing the door behind. Billy's face lit up when he heard the door slam shut and although it felt weird cause he could still sense the presence of someone else, he decided to overlook it.

He dashed down the stairs happily and went straight into the kitchen, took out a leftover pizza from the fridge and hurriedly stuffed it into his mouth. But quickly froze when a familiar voice called him softly from behind.

"Billy..?"

He swifty twirled and there she was, the girl he'd been avoiding. He noticed her teary eyes, and the look of misery in her face. Seeing her had suddenly stirred something inside him as he longed to seize her moist lips and suckle on it till it got swollen. But his fantasies were far from becoming a reality.

"Why didn't you visit me?." She calmly asked while trying to hold back the tears that was about to roll down her smooth pink cheeks.

He was speechless, he did not know what better way to ease the awkward tension. "I wanted to, I just couldn't find the time."

He scratched his hair nervously, not certain of what he'd just said. The tears on her cheeks started flowing freely as soon as the words left his lips, but surprisingly she was smiling.

"I can't believe I spent the past few weeks

worrying about someone who'd forgotten I ever existed."

"Com'on Olivia how can you say such things?, you know I care about you." He whispered as he walked closer to her and tried hugging her.

"Don't even dare Billy." She quickly waved him off.

"I get it Billy. You're not into me, but least act human. I was fuckin' molested. I still see it in my head every night and to think that the only thing that kept me sane was the thought of you." The tears were flowing more freely as she poured out her bitterness.

He remained quiet, not sure of what to say. It was like a mine game when relating women. A puzzle that he had no clue on how to solve.

"I'm 'onna make it easier for you since it's so obvious how badly you want me out of your life. it's over Billy!" She spat out fiercely before walking away and slamming the door hard.

«Is this what break up feels like?.» He tried to talk but couldn't utter a single word. So much for a bright tuesday morning.

While in school the students kept gossiping about the new awesome superhero whom they now referred to as "The Blue Eagle". The name was actually way better than what he'd had in mind. Everyone had started comparing him with famous S-rank supers. But the most of all their comparison was that of him and the Dark Entity. Most votes went to the Dark Entity as they claimed he'd battled with real tough villains while the Blue Eagle had only been toying around with lame bandits.

Billy's burrows furrowed a bit as he watched while they chatted and gossiped away. His mind was still stuck with the break up scene and he needed a distraction. Slowly a stupid ideal slipped into his mind.

"Hey man what's up?." A lean fair guy greeted as he approached him.

"Great just in time Eric, tell me what do you know about tracking people." He suddenly asked.

"Wow slow down. Now tell me. What is it?." Eric asked professionally.

"I need you to track someone for me." He promptly replied.

"And who might that be?." Eric asked curiously while lifting one eyebrow up.

"The Dark Entity." He hesitantly replied.

"The what!?. Dude are you out of your mind?." Panicked Eric.

He was his best friend and the only person who knew of his secret identity. They often stayed in Iron klaw's old secret lair during school hours. He knew Billy as the reckless type of guy that often did a lot of crazy stuffs. The sudden rumor about him and the Dark Entity had also aroused his curiosities, but he was certainly not okay with how things were going.

"Can you track him or not!?" Billy asked impatiently.

"No Billy...I can't."

"Or you don't want to?. Fuck I knew this was a waste of time." He cursed as he proceeded to leave.

"Wait I think I've got a bad idea. You're not gonna like it." He mumbled while smiling mischievously.

"I like bad ideas. Count me in."
