The Strange Place

When she returns to consciousness, she sits up with a start. Lavender eyes blinking as they focus. It was a peach colored floor she sat on, and when her eyes travel up she finds herself in a big glass room. It was well lit, not terribly bright. Her eyes are immediately drawn to something large in a similar glass room to the right of her.

"What the fuck is that?" She whispers, feeling the blood leave her face as the smoky blue creature shifts, it's restraints flash like lightning that came down from the ceiling. Lucy was frozen in awe and horror as she looked it over. It had to stand at ten feet or a few feet more. It had black fleshy lines that seemed carved into it's smoky blue skin. The closest thing it's body reminded her of was a bug, like a spiky praying mantis. The head was much different though, four horns sprouted from the top of it's head, about a foot long. Between the horns seemed to be a black mohawk of thin spikes.

Two pairs of scarlet eyes sat below the horns, the slitted pupils were bright red, and it had ears like an elf. The mandible of the creature was split down the middle, two bone spikes were visible along the center of the split. Even from where she was she could see the pointed teeth within it's jaws. Behind it, it's bone-like tail swishing, looking as sharp as a sword.

'There's no way this isn't a dream..' Lucy thinks to herself, before slapping her hands over her cheeks in an attempt to wake up. Nothing. She peers at the room to the left of her, seeing a green scaled creature that slashed at the walls to get out. Seemed to be a mix between a cat and a lizard.

There were more creatures beyond it, all in their own cells. Lucy turns around to try and find a way out, pausing at sight of the beings on the outside, walking about holograms freely in their holographic armor. They were the ones behind this no doubt. Lucy frowns uneasily, her eyes looking over the glass walls of her cell. There didn't seem to be any doors from what she could see. She looks towards the ceiling, there seemed to be a hatch above her, but that was clearly out of reach for her 5'5" stature. She looks back at the ones outside of the cells as they soon gather around a hologram, pressing a spot on the hologram.

A sliding noise sounds at that, Lucy swiftly looks about to see what they had done. At the ends of the cell row, the walls were lifting between cells. The creatures exposed to each other instinctively begin to fight, splattering eachother's differently colored blood against the glass containing them. Lucy jumps in alarm at that waiting in horror before the next wall is lifted, letting the victor charge the next opponent.

"Fuck… Fuck!" Lucy hisses looking between the creatures that neighbour her. There was no way she was going to survive, and what's more she was at the center of this row. Which means she may have to fight both of them if they survive their matches. 'I'm so screwed…" She backs against the glass behind her, swallowing down the lump of fear in her throat before looking towards the fights. Five more, four more, three more…

Lucy swallows, mind whirling as she looks around for some sort of weapon. She pauses and looks down at her spiked belt, swiftly removing it and wrapping it around her knuckles and arm. It wouldn't be enough probably but at least it was something.

She checks on the creature to her right as the wall opens up on the other side of it. The hog-like creature charges it with another creature's scythe-like limb, moving to swing it but gets brutally impaled by the large creature's restrained arm.

She swallows down another lump before checking on the cat creature on her left as it wrestles with another creature. She looks back to the restrained creature. Maybe she could hide under it where it couldn't reach her? Let the two creatures kill each other? She nods slightly to herself, blood pumping in her ears as she watches the bottom of the glass wall.

It starts to lift and she dives underneath, feeling the restrained creature look at her at that. She swiftly scrambles underneath it, hearing a roar to the left of her. She looks over as the cat creature charges, looking at the restrained creature. It makes a move to leap onto the bigger being. The four eyed creature spits at it, the pinkish liquid instantly burning off the top half of the attacking creature.

Lucy's eyes widen in horror. She hadn't expected such a swift altercation. 'What do I do now?' She worries, wondering if she was even a match. She couldn't bring herself to move, shaking slightly. Something suddenly grabs her, tossing her up. Another pair of sharp fingers catch her, turning her to the four eyed creature.

'It grew more arms!' She realizes, glancing down it before meeting the creature's red eyes as it exposes it's rows of teeth to her.

"P-Please… No…" She pleads fearfully, trying to lean away. The eyes blink at her, teeth receding out of view as it shuts it's mouth. Lucy blinks, relaxing slightly as she is set down.

The creature looks past her at the beings on the other side of the glass. She follows it's gaze as the beings start for the cell. The four eyed creature spits a clear liquid at the glass, it goes through the glass, killing two of the suited beings. Lucy stiffens, eyes widening in shock at that.

The beings scatter then, running for a rectangular device near a door. They were probably going for weapons. This was her chance to escape. Lucy runs for the hole, jumping through and landing just past the gap in the floor the acid spit made. She pauses, looking back at the creature. There wasn't a chance for her to get out of here without it.

She rushes for the hologram to see if she could figure it out. Luckily it looked like a floor plan. She touches the wall that had been melted, making it raise. "And this must be your restraints…" She guesses, pressing the circles within the cell, making the lightning-like cords disappear from the creature's restraints.

Lucy then swiftly ducks behind a desk as the creature charges out and the beings call in unknown languages followed by a chorus of bursts all around the room. Lucy flinches, covering her ears and closing her eyes.

The room shakes slightly, the sounds of chaos sounding through her hands. Then, after what seemed forever, silence. She peeks her eyes open to peer around herself, then over the desk.

It was a massacre, blood and fleshy pieces scattered about along with bits of holographic armor. There also seemed to be broken pieces of technology, probably the weapons. The four eyed creature pants lightly, scanning about before focusing on her. Lucy jumps slightly, shifting as she peers about.

"Um… This looks like a way out." She says, starting for a door. The creature follows carefully, it was unnervingly quiet with it's movements despite it's size. She swallows, feeling around for a handle or pad to open the door. Nothing seemed to be there. "Maybe it opens from a hologram too…" She frowns, glancing at the creature. It feels it's piercing arms along the door before cutting it open. "I like that solution too." She comments when it looks at her. She peers at the new room, easing in carefully.

This one was darker than the previous and seemed empty. She peers back at the creature as it follows, eyes searching about as well. They seemed to have an alliance at least, which made her feel better about the situation.

"Alright. We need some light…" She searches herself. "Oh right… The phones went floating off." She mutters, carrying on, everything growing darker around her. Something sinks under her foot, making a light grow beneath them.

Something massive moves beneath the glass under her feet. Lucy gasps, touching one of Four-Eye's legs in alarm.  "A tank…" She whispers, looking at the creatures swimming around the room. The largest devouring everything that it could catch. "Are we under a sea?" She whispers looking for another door.

Four-Eye moves back looking at the sea creature that could devour them both in one gulp. Lucy shifts back with it, feeling tense as the sea creature locks on them.

"It can't break this glass right?" She offers some comfort to the silent creature. The sea creature suddenly knocks into the tank, making a crack in the side of it. Lucy pales at that, but before she can react, Four-Eye scoops her up in it's sharp grasp, rushing them out of the room and back into the previous one.

Four-Eye sets her down and she looks about uneasily, the sound of water splashing into the tank behind them. Lucy rushes to the next indention looking around hastily. Four-Eye moves to rip it open but she swiftly stops the creature.

"No! We need that to seal the water! I'll find a way to open it." She tells it, hurrying to a hologram. Four-Eye watches her, glancing towards the tank as more cracking sounds accompanied with more splashing.

Lucy swallows, pressing all over the hologram, making the glass walls rise or fall until the door opens. "There!" She gasps rushing through the door and to another hologram as the new room flashes red. She presses on the hologram to close the door as a crash resonates from the tank. Her and Four-Eye stop to look at the door for a moment, drops of water soon falling from the top of it. "That's not gonna hold long. Let's go!" She tells her companion, rushing for another door, glancing at the bloody glass cells, there didn't seem to be any survivors in this area.
