"Every decision I made, I considered her first. It's not that I don't want to have a child with her, but it would complicate things for her. "
Kendra's POV
"Tell me, child, are you carrying the next heir?"
I didn't know what to do. I never wanted to announce it like this. I was on the verge of telling the truth if only Johann hadn't acted the way he did.
But he was fast enough to deny the news, something I should have done.
"That's impossible, Aunt Chen."
"Why not? You are husband and wife. Isn't it normal to conceive a child?" Uncle Chen even butted in.
I stood there frozen. I didn't want to get caught but I didn't want to deny my little peanut either. So I chose to shut my mouth.
However, Johann seemed perplexed and in denial of the news, so he kept on rejecting the idea Aunt Chen was implicating.
"Yes, but I am always at work. We seldom sleep together, and even if we did, we take extra precautions. So having a baby is next to impossible."
