CHAPTER 74 Broken Ties

"From friends to lovers, and now, we are back to being strangers."

  Johann's POV

As soon as we arrived at the lake house, my wife went straight to Grandpa's room and asked me not to join.

I waited in the bedroom where we stayed on Grandpa's birthday. I couldn't help but worry. It's been an hour since she went there.

I stepped out of the balcony and lit my cigarette to relieve my stress.

"What's taking her so long? Did she really say it to Grandpa?" I asked myself while constantly walking in circles.

A little later, the door swung open and I saw her with bulging eyes.

"Hey, what's wrong? Did Grandpa g-get mad at you? Did h-he…"

I couldn't get my sentences straight but she seemed to understand what I wanted to say.

"You're smoking? Will you put that away, I hate that smell," she pinpointed and refused to answer my question.

Instead, she handed over the small vault she was holding, "Here, Grandpa said you know the password," she said.
