Kendra's POV
Hearing what he said broke my heart. Not only did he erase the past's memory with me, but he also made it clear that love, at first sight, was nothing but an idiotic notion.
I was saddened by it because that notion he just mocked is what made me love him. Ironic, isn't it?
We were halfway on our trip to the court when I received a phone call. I connected it to the car's system as I answered.
"H-hello?"
In the background, I heard different noises from car engines, sirens, and intercom announcements. I could barely hear the voice, until after a static noise, "Hello, Lady Kendra. Hello?"
Finally, the voice went clearer, and I distinguished it was Aunt Chen.
"Lady Kendra, it's your grandpa. H-hurry, you m-must go to the hospital. He's in critical condition…"
