"When I decided to embrace her wholly, I swore to Grandpa and to myself that I would give her my all. As a start, I need to let go of my past that's been dragging me down."
Kendra's POV
Celia's senses are always sharp. Since childhood, she sensed when something was not right or if something changed.
Just like today, a small detail like not ordering a coffee made her way to my deepest secret that only Grandpa Jake and the doctor knew.
"Why are you not having your usual coffee, I said?" she repeated her question for the second time around.
I scratched my head and tried to make an excuse just to see if she would buy it, "Well, I just had coffee at home and I wanted to try something different from this cafe. Is it bad?"
As expected, she ridiculed my excuse, "Really? You think I'm going to fall for that?"
I giggled to annoy her and said, "Well, oh well, just trying you out. Well, the truth is…I…am…pregnant."
But I saw her eyes were fixed a little far from me.
