CHAPTER 56.Dinner Date

  Annie

I felt a lot better after talking to Evan at the library. I shouldn't have freaked out and run away the other day. What was wrong with me!?

Evan didn't seem all that angry with me for stopping talking to him, so that was a relief. He didn't start hating me!

I decided to call James and tell him right away. I didn't want him to think I was keeping Evan a secret.

"Hey, I was just about to call you," James said as soon as he picked up the phone.

"You were? What's going on?" I asked eagerly. I wondered if Evan had already told him about me.

"Evan offered to cook dinner tonight and invited you for dinner!" James said. He sounded excited.

I smiled to myself. I could still remember the taste of the food Evan used to make for me. I missed them. "He is?"

"Yeah. Can you believe it? A roommate that can cook. I've hit the jackpot," James chirped.

I giggled. "Hey, about that...remember how I told you I knew someone named Evan?"
