Prologue

'Who am I? Where am I?'

As the old scientist opened his eyes, he was taken aback by his surroundings. Everything appeared smaller and distorted. Despite the shock, he quickly regained his composure and began to assess his situation.

Moments ago, he still was in his laboratory, going on with a very dangerous experiment.

'It most likely failed...But this body...'

Emerald-colored skin, nails resembling sharpened stones, tough skin typically seen on wild animals, the ability to see in the dark, and a body reminiscent of a young and untamed adolescent, characterized by underdeveloped muscles and a short stature.

There was no doubt about it.

He had taken over the body of a goblin.

He knew that survival would be a challenge in this new form, but his scientific mind immediately began to formulate a plan. He resolved to make the best of his current situation and adapt to his new body, even if it meant living the rest of his life as a goblin.

It didn't matter, truly. The old scientist was not someone who was attached to the form of a human being. If anything, he was grateful to be alive, grateful to have been given a second chance at life, even if it meant to overcome the hurdles that came along being reborn as a foreign, short green-skinned creature looked down upon by all other sentient beings.

With renewed determination, the old scientist began to explore his surroundings, testing the limits of his new form and gathering information about the world around him. Though he knew he would miss his old life, he knew that he had to embrace this new challenge with open arms.

As he ventured forth, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder at the new possibilities that lay ahead. Who knew what discoveries and adventures awaited him as a goblin.

As the old scientist continued to explore his new surroundings, he found that memories were slowly coming back to him - memories that belonged to the goblin body he now possessed. He began to recall the primitive tribe of goblins that he belonged to, and was surprised to find that they were much more intelligent than he had originally thought.

'As I thought, the biochip has begun synchronizing with my new brain', he thought

The old scientist was one of the few elite individuals who were selected and earned the right to transplant an artificial intelligence into his brain. The A.I. chip allowed him to memorize data and analyse the world like a computer. While it only allowed him to memorize data, and not understand it, it was of tremendous help in his academic achievements in the past.

'Goblins may be small and short, but they are far from primitive. In fact, their society is highly complex, with intricate social hierarchies, advanced tool-making techniques, and even a rudimentary system of writing...', the old scientist analysed

The scientist was amazed to find that the goblins had developed their own unique language, one that was rich in nuance and subtle inflections. As he listened to their conversations, he began to understand the complexity and depth of their culture.

Despite the initial shock of being reincarnated as a goblin, the scientist found himself growing more and more fascinated by the goblins and their way of life. He realized that there was still so much he could learn from these short creatures, and he resolved to immerse himself fully in their culture and gain a deeper understanding of their world.

As he continued to recover more and more memories, the scientist began to feel a sense of belonging amongst the goblins. He may have been an outsider at first, but he now felt like he was part of their tribe - a goblin among goblins. And as he looked out at the world around him, he felt a sense of wonder and curiosity about the possibilities that lay ahead.

'Gurk...This is my new name, my new identity...', the old scientist said, fully accepting his new identity in this world.
