Gurk

After carefully absorbing the memories of his body, Gurk realized that he belonged to the [Black Rose] goblin tribe. In this deep underground cave, there lied several powers. Besides predators such as [Dire Wovles] and [Giant Red-eyed Spiders], there were several tribes of goblins.

The black rose tribe was one of them. With more than 200 goblins belonging to this tribe, it was a significant power in the underground cave, and although goblin tribes usually rose and fell, the black rose tribe had survived for several decades. With each generation of goblins, the tribe grew more powerful, more intelligent and more complex.

Gurk's old scientific mind could not help but be amazed by the complexity of this sentient life. Very similar to primitive humans, goblins in the black rose tribe created a semblance of hierarchy, with the goblin chieftain at the very top, and goblin warriors below him. The Goblin Chieftain, called Garruck, was the tallest and most powerful goblin warrior in the tribe. He wielded a great sword which was said to weigh over three big-size stones, and he had slain dozens of enemy goblins in the past. Rumours said that he had hunted an elder giant red-eyed spider by himself several years ago.

With power, came privilege. Gurk realized that the more influence you possessed in the village, the more meat you had access to.

'The most basic requirement to growing a stronger body is the ingestion of food...It seems like the village works following the law of jungle...Those who are acknowledged as warriors become increasingly stronger as they have access to more food, and so the cycle continues...'

Looking at his frail and young body, Gurk could only laugh. He was far from the refined and trained body of goblin warriors.

With 1.0 as the human standard, Gurk realized that he had a long way to go.

As he returned to the black rose tribe, he realized with awe and respect that this tribe truly had a history. The stone walls and wooden constructions were not something that could be constructed rashly. They were the results of hundreds of goblins putting sweat and blood into the construction, gathering materials and assembling them. Without plans or science to speak of, this was the result of a trial and error. The walls were only one meter tall, but they encompassed a large area, that was enough to house all 200 goblins belonging to the tribe.

This was an impressive tribe.

"It's me, Gurk!", Gurk shouted in front of the gates in the goblin language he remembered from his memories

Although he had only seen memories, speaking this language felt quite natural. OF course, the language was not very developped and lacked vocabulary, but it was enough for the goblins to understand one another.

'Truly, this world will never cease to surprise me...'
