A month passed in a flash.
Gurk could no longer be called weak. He had grown several inches, finishing his growth spurt, reaching adulthood. His once frail body had gained presence, with tone muscles exposed. His past apprehension was now replaced by the eyes of a hunter.
Currently in the hunting grounds of the Black Rose tribe, Gurk was stealthily following his prey. It was none other than a lone [Dire Wolf].
Dire wolves were strong creatures that could be a threat to humans, not to mention goblins who were shorter. However, the strength of dire wolves came from the fact that they hunted in packs, using team work to defeat more fearsome opponents.
Thankfully, lone dire wolves existed. Some had lost their packs, or were abandonned due to an injury.
Gurk smiled as the his target fell asleep in a small tunnel. It was the perfect opportunity to test his strength.

Skills: Spear mastery [E]]
Gurk took out the spear he had crafted in the past month, and charged forward. Be it a goblin, a human, or a dire wolf, the ambush would be successful if the target was asleep. It was a golden opportunity.
Gurk had thoroughly adapted to his new environment and body in the past month. Knowing that goblins possessed small reach as compared to a human, he decided to master the spear, which possessed tremendous piercing power and flexibility as compared to the sword, while making up for his small stature.
Thanks to his choice of weapon, he was far more successful than his peers at hunting, to the point that other goblins called him 'Hunter Gurk'. As he hunted small preys like horned rabbits and green bats, Gurk accelerated his physical growth. Goblins possessed a strange metabolism. They did not need a lot of food to survive, but when they did consume food, they would digest it almost instantly, turning proteins into muscles.
In addition to physical growth that came with hunting, Gurk possessed one more advantage over his peers: training. While other goblins lazed off or mated with female goblins, Gurk trained. He would swing his spear and thrust to get a better mastery over his spear.
*SWOOSH*
Thrusting with all of his power, the dire wolf did not have the time to react before the spear pierced its hide. Blood splashed, but unfortunately, it was not enough. A dire wolf was a monster with more than 2 points of vitality.
Jumping backwards in pain, the direwolf started to howl, but Gurk did not leave any room for it to recover from the shock, and thrusted forward again. One...two...three...
*SWOOOSH*
It took eight thrusts for the monster to finally fall.
[Target is dead...]
As if he was possessed, Gurk rushed over to the corpse and started to eat it. There was no etiquette or cooking involved. Gurk acted like a true goblin and started to devour it raw.
Unknown to him, Gurk had slowly but surely turned into a goblin in more than physical way. He himself begun to be a goblin in his soul. It did not matter if he had a scientific mind, or strong will.
