The Value of Cultivation

Holding some fear in his heart, Di Tou looked at the oxtail in front of him and decided to eat a little bit more before trying. After all, if he ended up being bloated into a ball and had to be carted out, wouldn't it be a pity if he left so much of the meal uneaten?

With this resolve in mind, Di Tou quickly ate with the ethic of a solider, quickly consuming another small portion of the mountain, remembering to use the soy sauce dip this time around, and enjoying a new combination of flavors. While the oxtail was well seasoned and naturally delicious, and had a earthy taste and rich, deep flavor, the addition of the soy sauce added a new layer of complexity, with the fine soy sauce adding sweetness and umami, alongside it's characteristic saltiness, while the additional garlic and pepper added a layer of heat and spice that worked in tandem with the natural flavors of the oxtail.
