The Grand Bazaar, Part 1

Funny story, the Grand Bazaar wasn't far enough for us to require a leaf boat to ferry us across one of Yggdrasil's other branches. Nope, our destination was just a mile away on the same low-hanging branch the Academy's campus called home.

Soon enough, we arrived at the end of a series of low buildings with thatched roofs to either side of a crowded street with awnings set in vibrant shades of yellows and greens and blues and violets—basically every color of the rainbow—stretched out across shops to give the bazaar a very festive atmosphere. Large Christmas lights hung from wires along the street, doubling down on that cheerful vibe the local sellers must have thought would lull shoppers into easy sales.

The stalls themselves were an explosion of color and activity filled with crates and shelves that sold items from everyday things like food and clothing to items of a more fantasy fare such as weapons and armor.
