Monster Hunter, Part 2

I launched a second arrow at Grendel. This time, it dodged the arrow by twisting its body around, but I caused enough of a distraction to help Reddington escape.

As for Grendel, with its cloak of shadows dripping wolf's blood on the grass, the monster turned its face in my direction. A pair of yellow reptilian eyes glared at me from across the clearing, and they burned with a whole lot of hate.

"Wait a minute…" My eyes zoned in on the dark ichor coating the scales around Grendel's neck. There were other injuries on it too. Ones that its cloak of shadows failed to hide from view. "You're wounded pretty badly…"

I glanced sideways at Reddington.

"Good boy." I sent it the thumbs up. "If you're going to get entangled in another monster match-up then you should be doing at least this much, right?"
