Harmony of Dissonance, Part 2

So, I've been thinking this since the vampires showed up to ambush us inside the crypt, but there was no way they could've entered this place on their own. More importantly, Mistress Lorelai had let it slip earlier that Master Malegant Troyes—the professor of our Blade Dance elective—had been given a different task by Grandmaster Dwalinn for this expedition to Arefu, which I knew from my past life was to confirm or debunk a rumor of a secret passage into Castle Vlad hidden in the quaint little village at the foot of the Carpathians.

Well, it wasn't a rumor, and I bet Master Malegant had figured that out in this life as well, and that's how the vampires knew where to ambush us. They must have captured the half-elf and coerced him into giving up the intel. It was the only thing that made sense given the mess we were in.

"What do you mean?" Liara asked.

"I'm the one asking the questions here, pretty one," the creepy coffin cut in. "Focus, please."
