Symphony of the Night, Part 1

"She's coming…" I never thought such words would instill fear into the heart of one whom even death couldn't claim. The problem was that dealing with vampires meant death wasn't the worst-case scenario. It was simply the lesser of two evils.

Now, I'm not saying I was afraid. As everyone knows, I don't get frightened even against kaiju-sized wolves. Well, at least not after having beaten it once. He-he-he.

However, I will admit that the cold atmosphere spreading down from the spiral staircase beyond the arch entryway was a little unnerving. In my defense, I wasn't the only one to feel it either. Zen who was built like a trucker, Saga who had incredible strength and resilience, plus our terrified teacher who was originally an artist with a blade—they were all shivering from the unnatural cold too.

Step… Step… Step…

"Run, you fools," Master Malegant pleaded. "Run."
