Chapter 41 :(The taste of failure.)

Transferring from one place to another is always hard. Besides, sometimes we have to do it for the greater good. Augustya and the rest landed on the terrestrial planet KurmaB8. The KurmaB8 planet was the nearest and most sustainable choice for them, as Intergalactic Force Division D was chasing them. They infiltrated the KurmaB8 very quickly, as it wasn't tight.  It's the home of wandering humanoids and cyborgs. This planet had a population of 10 million. The weather wasn't horrible here, except if you moved to the south.

Augustya woke up from a terrible nightmare that had been haunting him for a while. He glanced at the bedsheet, which was drenched in sweat. His breath was heavier, and he didn't feel an ounce of energy.

"Same nightmare." He rubbed his eyes and looked at the door with a blank expression.  He took a deep breath to calm himself and got out of bed. As he went to do his daily activities.

'This nightmare is renting my head free.  Perhaps I should ask Vidyut about that.' He thought about it and went to the bathroom.  Augustya acknowledged that Vidyut had vast knowledge of Kepler species.

After a few days of flattery, Augustya finally became his loyal assistant.

Some wondered why Vidyut was staying with them.

Augustya Pandora set foot in the living room, which was merged with the kitchen.  He saw Zekrom, who was studying for his mercenary examination. In Kurma B67, being a space mercenary was a very prestigious yet life-threatening job.  To qualify for that, you just needed to pass a few tests, like basic education, skills to fight, and a driving license.

The age for giving tests is 15–55, or 1\5 of any species lifespan.

Zekrom had combat skills but couldn't read or write. Therefore, he was studying with the help of the A.I education model.

Augustya glanced at Zekrom's handwriting, which was worse than the doctor's handwriting. Besides, there were too many errors.

"This is incorrect. Exoplanets don't revolve around the sun but around the planets."

"Besides, you need to improve your math as well. So many wrong answers." Augustya mentioned.

Zekrom closed the tablet.

*Tap*

"You don't have to take heart, as I am just trying to correct you."

"I don't need your help." Zekrom's cheeks were flustered.

Augustya didn't bother him and sat down on the couch.

Julie and Famara Kelvis came out of their room; they looked different from usual.  Their clothes seemed new; even Famara trimmed his beard and combed his pink hair. On the other hand, Julie was wearing a crop top that matched a long floral skirt, which showcased her feminine side.   Besides, she was wearing sneakers, not heels.

"Are you two going somewhere? " Augustya  questioned them. Two of them glanced at each other and blinked.

"We are going to buy new furniture for this old house." Julie lied in confidence.

"Also grocery"

Zekrom grumbled  to them, "I want to go with you guys. It's too boring to study the same thing."

Famra glared at him. " Focus on the study, Zek. Only 32 days left before the test."

Zekrom banged his pen on the desks and glowered at the educational programme.

"See ya, you two."

"And don't do dumb stuff when we are gone." Julie warned. As two of them left.

Zekrom stood up from his chair and started dancing like a freak.

"Are you aware that the security monitor is watching your every movement and transferring it to them?

"If you try to slack off, then you will not be allowed to have dinner today." Augustya threatened him and left him alone.

"Why am I the only one who has to study here?"

"Because you need a license to be a space mercenary. And it should be 38, not 33." Augustya corrected him.

____________

The house they live in has two floors: the first floor is where they sleep, and the second floor is where their spaceship is parked. Hidden from the noisy neighbors, making them lawful immigrants to this city.

Augustya looked at the spaceship with disgusted eyes. The neutral color was ruining the spaceship's ethnic vibes.

However, the interior was the same with little modification.

For the past month, both have been working on a nuclear fission battery. Although they didn't have the right equipment or a blueprint of the battery.  Hence, they were making everything from scratch.

They already had an improved version of an isotope of the uranium element. For the power source, they were using the engine of a spaceship. Making nuclear fission was not like baking a peice of bread.

"Can't we buy a nuclear battery?" Augustya asked, and weary eyes and fatigue could be seen on his face.

"For that, you have to pay 1 million sols." Vidyut said as he glanced at the module of nuclear fission.

"Who would have thought that the youngest prince of Igrius would be penniless one day?" Augustya sighed as he stared at the nuclear fission reactor.

"You reap what you sow!" Vidut exclaimed.

Nuclear fission involves atoms being separated into subatomic particles.  During the process, a neutron is accelerated and strikes the target nucleus, which is an old-fashioned way of doing this.   The process may take place spontaneously in some cases or may be induced by the excitation of the nucleus with a variety of particles (e.g., neutrons, protons, deuterons, or alpha particles) or with electromagnetic radiation in the form of gamma rays

The actual mass of a nucleus(proton and neutron) is always less than the sum of the mass. The nuclear reactor they created was twice as small as the commercial one.

Finally, the moment of truth.

The conversion of mass to energy follows Einstein's equation, E = mc2,

Lastly, the energy will be stored in the battery; however, the next moment nobody would have anticipated.

*Boom Bam*

*Woosh*

The nuclear fission reactor exploded after 3.45 seconds of starting. It blasted through the middle of the route. Perhaps the potential energy of a moving  nucleus wasn't enough.

The heavy smog covered the entire spaceship, and the burnt smell of something was nauseating Augustya's nose.  If the shield wasn't protected, they would have barbecued in this explosion. So the conclusion came out: it went against to Augustya desire.

As their vision is a little bit clearer, both of them peek at each other with hostility.

He still had to suffer for his stupidity. His clothes turned to ashes, and his tan skin was painted black.  Technically speaking, Augustya was half naked and didn't like it for sure.
