Chapter 42 ( The guilt)

Afar from the busy town, they resided in a semi-desert with a few bushes and trees. The temperature was moderate, yet they didn't worry about minor things.

The compact pod in which they lived looked like a spherical igloo or a curled-up armadillo, with its scales like strong protective panels bolted together to withstand the weather and wild attacks.

They were coming back from check-up routine. The gynaecologist told her that her foetus was two months old. It was the best time to abort the child. Julie had been thinking for a while but hadn't come to a conclusion yet.

"Do you think I should abort the child?" Julie asked in a low voice.

"Hmm. Do whatever you want." Famara answered. In his heart, he wanted to say no but stopped himself from doing that.

Either it was good or bad, but she would suffer from it.

Julie scorned him and said, "Whatever, my peanut. Don't forget it's your child too."

"If this child comes out, we will get 1 million sols for raising it, and abortion would cost us.

"They are giving because of the low birth rate in this city." Famara corrected her.

Julie rubbed her stomach and felt nauseous again.  "You are a pain in the peanut."

Famara's gaze shifted, and noticed lots of smoke coming towards their home.

They even saw a firefighter's vehicle and an ambulance in front of their house.

Their house was far away from the alley, so no noisy neighbors would peek at their business.

"My houseee!" Julie shouted with a burning gaze. Whoever did that would now see the wrath of Julie. As she set foot in the house, her pupil dilated. Furious eyes could be seen, and she was sweating. They saw a tall, plump belly firefighter and wore red uniform suit.

Famara was examining the situation and put nonchalant look. He gave Julie signal so she wouldn't lose her temper. Julie had a very nasty relationship with uniform or beuracratas.

"Are you the adopted parent of these two kids?" The firefighter asked as he glanced at the couple. Both of them nodded their heads and maintained a calm posture.

"The short guy tried to explode the house with a random experiment." He said it in a solemn voice. Julie watched Augustya 's face as he stood beside the table and dejectedly

"Don't you teach your kids some ethnic and cultural rules? Luckily, we notice the smoke at the right time, or your house will be burned alive."  Julie's smile was crooked at the end, clenching her fist. She didn't like it when someone complained or lecturned her, especially if it wasn't her fault.

"Ser, I apologize for my children's behavior." She exclaimed, took deep breath to calm herself.

"Landowners won't be joyful with the vandalism.

Zekrom scratched his hand and snarled.  "Someone is going to jail again." He murmured.

"Kids, how about we talk in private?  Julie, please show some hospitality to this gentleman." Famara exclaimed in a gentle voice. However, underneath this soft smile, there was a devil hiding there. 3 of them left both in alone.

"You saw there was just an illusion of overworking.

No smog, no flames!

This is the result of overworking, my dear.

Now it's time for you guys to nap." Julie sang this song. Her soundwave worked like manipulation on their ears. It worked like magic.

The police officer walked like a puppet, one step after another, and left the home.

Afterwards, Zekrom explained everything in a detailed manner and didn't leave any information. How did they do that? Why did they do such a horrific experiment? Besides, he exaggerated in extreme ways.

"Where is the second partner of your crime?" Julie asked as she put her hands on her waist.

"He ran away from the crime scene." Augustya said in a low voice. "I apologise for my ignorant behaviour. I didn't know…"

*Paa!"

Out of the blue, Famara Kelvis raised his hand towards Augustya.  His palm imprinted on his cheeks, but the kid didn't dodge it. He accepted it with no complaint.

Augustya bit his upper lips and looked down in guilt.

"August I am very disappoint to you. Do you know how much money will take to repair this ship?"

"Does that firefighter or neighbors see that spaceship?" Famara asked in a solemn voice.  Both of them shook their heads.

"Go to your room and reflect youself. "

Two of them sat down on the couch, and fatigue could be seen in their eyes.

Julie took a deep sigh.

"How are we going to repair this hole?

It will take all of our savings." Julie grumbled and started munching the kartoffeln chips that were on the table.

Famra sat beside her and put his hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to worry about that. I will manage that."

"How will you manage that? By killing more mortals or enslaving yourself." Julie said in a harsh tone, ate another chip.

Famara wanted to argue but stopped midway. Today was not the day to mess with the fiery queen.

"I hate to say this but you were right. We shouldn't take these children with us. How could we raise them?" Julie complained, as her anxiety was showing.

Everytime she was anxious about something, she started grumbling rubbish or spitting the truth.

"Another is coming. This is not what I really want. "

_____________

The sun had already passed.

Augustya and Zekrom's room was on the first floor, close to Julie's room. Both kids were sharing a room with each other. Although they have separate beds.

As their light was off, Augusrya was staring at the transparent ceiling.

"See, this is what happens when you think you are Zig." Zekrom sneered.

Zig is actually a slang word that means too smart for yourself. It was a very famous slang in A city.

"Serve you, Zig!"

Augustya didn't defend himself from mocking and had been listening to his whining for a while. Who would have thought that this would go like that?

Augustya had laid on the bed, overthinking all the situations and evaluating where they went wrong. 'I wish I was not here.  Vidyut, where have you been? I wish you would have died from lightning. Or died by apis.'

'If I meet you anywhere, I will tear apart your limbs and give you your pet. Burn you, man.'  His overthinking didn't let him sleep.

For an entire week, Augustya devoted himself to cleaning this house, washing dishes, and helping Julie.

On the other hand, Vidyut didn't show up.  Zekrom hadn't studied wholeheartedly.

On the same night, Famara decided to take Zekrom to the Elixir Arena so he could teach him how to fly a spaceship and fight with others. Moreover, the cost for one person was 1500 sols, so for three people it would be 4500. He booked three tickets without discussing it with the lady of the house.
