A ghost in the room

After Tang Qin left, Pei Xingcheng was all alone in the room.

The silence was almost palpable. A shiver went down his spine when he thought of spending the next few months in this haunted mansion. For a slight second, he almost thought of turning around and running as far as he could.

But then, thinking about his image, he steeled his heart and decided to stay. No matter what, he needed to finish shooting this movie and never return back to this place.

He inhaled deeply and looked around at his surroundings, his eyes moving slowly around the room. As he made his way to the bed, his heart thumped heavily in his chest, his mind racing with thoughts of the ghost he might meet or see in his house.

"No, Xincheng... there are no ghosts in this house," he muttered to himself, trying to build his courage. "There is only one ghost that you can see, and that is Miss Ghost. Apart from her, there is no other ghost in the house....."

"Stay strong. Remain calm," he repeated again and again.

Once he started feeling a little better, he sat on the bed. His fingers trembled as he fished out his phone, his eyes darting nervously around the room. He began typing a message to his elder brother, his fingers moving hastily over the screen as he tried to put up a brave front.

Suddenly, he felt a chill run down his spine and a cold breath on the back of his neck. Immediately, Pei Xingcheng's body tensed up, and he turned around quickly, but there was nothing there.

The room was still, and the only sound was the rapid beating of his heart. Pei Xingcheng felt himself go numb, and his mind flooded with the scary stories Tang Qin had shared with him.

At this moment, he couldn't help but curse his manager under his breath, wondering why he had chosen to narrate such horror tales to someone who was already afraid of ghosts. "Stupid manager," he muttered under his breath and again began to type the message on his phone.

Just as he had resumed typing on his phone, suddenly, he felt another cold breath near his ear. A chill ran down his spine, and he could feel his heart racing with fear. It felt as if someone was standing over his body, trying to look into his phone.

Without a second thought, Pei Xingcheng jumped out of his bed and stared behind him, trying to find the source of the cold breath. He looked around the room, but there was no one there. He called out nervously, "W-who? W-who is it?"

There was no reply, and the silence in the room only made him more anxious. Pei Xingcheng could feel his pulse quickening as he tried to calm himself down. He looked around the room again, but there was no one there.

Thinking of something, his eyes narrowed slowly. "M-miss... Miss Ghost, I-I... I am telling you that if you are trying to scare me, then it is not funny," he said.

Yet, he got no answer.

"M-miss G-ghost, are you there?" he asked again.

But when he still didn't get any reply from her, he felt like crying, but no tears came out of his eyes. It seemed like she was still angry with him because of the things he said to her.

For the second time in the day, he wanted to curse himself.

Why the hell did he make her angry?

Why did he say that she was annoying and that he wanted her to leave him alone?

Now, how was he going to survive in this mansion without her?

With tears in his heart, Pei Xingcheng regrets his actions. He wanted to apologize to her and take his words back, but the person, or in his case, the ghost he wanted to apologize to, wasn't there.

As he stood there, he suddenly heard a soft, feminine laugh coming from behind him. Thinking that Miss Ghost was back, he quickly turned around; however, once again, there was nothing behind him.

"M-miss Ghost, is that you?" he called out, looking around the room fearfully.

Pei Xingcheng's heart raced as he received no response, prompting him to make his way towards Tang Qin's room quickly. No matter what, he wasn't going to stay alone in this room in any case. He was going to stay in Tang Qin's room.

Just as he turned around to leave, the lights in his room flickered on and off, causing him to freeze momentarily. He rushed towards the door with a sense of urgency and tried to open it. However, he found that the doorknob had been jammed from the outside, preventing him from leaving. Despite his frantic efforts, the door remained stubbornly locked.

"Please, please, please..... not now.... please open up, open up.... open up, dammit!" he kicked the door in desperation, and his voice laced with fear and frustration.

But his cries seemed to fall on deaf ears as the door remained firmly shut. Suddenly, the same eerie laugh from earlier echoed through the room, followed by a chilling female voice that sent shivers down his spine.

"I am not going to let you leave me alone here, Pei Xingcheng," she giggled, her voice laced with malice.

Pei Xingcheng: "......."

Hearing the voice, his heart was almost in his mouth. His eyes were full of fear. Just as he had opened his mouth to scream, the door opened. Tears began to fill his eyes as he quickly decided to flee. But the moment he opened the door, his body froze. Infront of him, all he could see was immense darkness and a figure in white.

"Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!" he almost let out a blood-curdling scream, taking a step back into the room in fear. "This ghost wants to eat me alive!!!!! Ahhhh!!!! Somebody save me!!!!! Ahhhh!!!! Miss Ghost, please save me!!!!!"

Miss Ghost: "..........."

She was just gone for twenty minutes; what had happened to this guy?
