When Cassey opened her eyes again, she noticed all the luggage near the door and her eyes widened.
"Wait! What is it?" she frowned, "I am not going anywhere with you. I have a home here and I have a job. I have a life here." she demanded but Tyrone did not reply to her.
He was good at ignoring others, she knew it from the start. But she had never thought it hurt so much now that she was at the receiving end.
She looked around and was relieved to find that Penny was still beside him and eating some fruits. She raised her head and blinked as she stared at her hysterical mother with confusion and a little pout.
Cassey's face softened immediately as she pulled her young child in her arms and stood up.
If they wanted her luggage, they could keep it. She was not going to leave with the man who had betrayed her and hurt her. She was not going to forgive him even if he begged her. Not to forget that he was only showing the moment they had met again.
Tyrone was good at ignoring others but Damien was not. His anger took over him as he blocked their way when Cassey glared at him.
"Do you know it is a crime to restrain others and force them to do things they do not want to?" Now that she had taken medicines and rested for two days, she was in better spirits and held a debate for her rights.
They had already bullied her enough when she was sick but not anymore.
"Ha! A criminal talking about her rights! Funny." Damien spat instantly leaving her with a frown again, "if you will not go politely then we can always chain you and drag you forcefully. You should be grateful that we are still treating you like a civilian." he huffed as he looked at her.
Penny was staring at Dami who was pointing at her mother and shouting in a menacing tone. She wriggled from the arms of her mother and raised her leg without any hesitation as she kicked his calf.
There was no pain but shock at Damien blinked and looked at the young girl who was scowling at him.
"Dont scold my mother!" she demanded with a look of authority on her face as if she was habitual of letting others know what she wanted and making sure they follow her commands.
Tyrone who was still talking with the physician about her discharge was startled but then a dotting smile filled his face. He walked closer and swooped the child in his arms.
"Do you not like this uncle?" he asked as he pointed at Damien who was still startled but his face turned pitiful instantly when she nodded her head at once.
"He is bad! He scolded my mother." she replied as she gave Damien another glare when Tyrone nodded.
"Then I will make sure no one will scold your mother. Would that be okay?" he asked as he patted her head when Penny nodded, much satisfied with the answer.
"Have you finished your breakfast?" he asked, though he could see half of the fruits were still left in the bowl. Cassey did not even care if her own child was hungry or filled.
"Mother wanted to go." she explained and Tyrone had to take a deep breath to make sure that he did not strangle the mother of his child for he did not want to earn the same glare as Damien.
"Go and finish it, i will take your mother for breakfast too." he explained so that Penny could understand and she nodded happily.
He took her back to the bed and left her there before holding the wrist of Cassey but she refused to budge.
"You can not order me after suddenly coming back in my life and thinking that nothing had changed. I…" she wanted to scold further but when he looked at her, she flinched.
Those eyes that used to be filled with love and tenderness were so cold and full of hatred that she could not look into them.
"No one knows better than me that everything has changed between us. But if you do not want to be dragged out like Damien had told you, it will be better that you follow me out or you want my daughter to see it?" my daughter? He did not even call Penny theirs but his!
The baby he had abandoned before her birth was his now! Hot tears seeped through the cracks of her fingers as she allowed herself to weep for everything that she had lost and was still losing. She was so wrapped up in her own misery that she could not understand why he was behaving like that when she should be complaining and she should be the one who shows temper.
But knowing well that he would not let go, she nodded her head and followed him out of the room.
"I will not come with you." she deadpanned as she entered the adjacent room when he threw a parchment on her face. She frowned and picked it up only to see her name written on it.
"You have been a wanted criminal in my fief. It would be better that you come with us or the results would not be good for you." her eyes widened. Though the parchment did not have much detail. She was labeled as a criminal for committing treason!
"What have I done to be announced as a criminal?" she asked in a horrified tone as her face turned ashen! No matter how much she thinks, she could not remember even bad mouthing anyone when she used to live there but when she looked at him, his face was so stiff and his eyes were so cold that she was sure that he would not reply.
When it finally clicked her,
"So, you are accusing me of such a big crime so that you can control me?"
